Description of 1967 Other Makes FERVES Ranger - LAWIL Varzina

1967 FERVES Ranger and 1971 LAWIL Varzina S3

I am selling two cars from my collection, two Italian microcars. I am selling them as a package deal for two reasons:

  • they represent together an important addition to any micro car collection (with other Fiat, Isetta, ….
  • they fit together in a 20’ container, making shipping overseas easier and cheaper.

1967 FERVES Ranger. One of the only 600 ever produced. Firs time ever on the market.

I am the third owner. The previous owner bought the car from a collector and sparingly used it.

Presented at the 1966 Turin Motor Show, the Ferves (FERrari VEicoli Speciali) Ranger is an attractive, compact all-terrain vehicle. The rear-mounted engine is a Fiat 500 unit, the all-independent suspension came from the Fiat 600, and after 1967, a all-drive-wheel version was available . The open body work features a folding windscreen and doors that can be fixed in the open position. It seats four passengers, but was also available with just two seats and a cargo area.

1971 LAWIL Varzina S3. Virtually one owner from new.

One owner from new (I am the second), a Milanese aristocrat with a passion for fly, he bought the car with the only purpose to commute from his countryside residence to the local airport (a couple of miles), where his small private airplane was stored.

It all began when Carlo Lavezzari, an italian enterpreneur, decided to build a microcar pushed by the same 125 c.c. engine of the Innocenti Lambretta: they built the first prototype unveiled at the 1966 Paris salon, here the french director of the Lambretta subsidiary, Henri Willame, got interested in it and founded the La.Wil. together with Lavezzari. The first car built came out of the factory with a 150 c.c. BCB engine (two stroke, of course). This was, back then, the smallest italian four wheel car ever built (205 cm. or little more than six and a half feet).

The car I am selling from my collection is the “S3” model, with the bigger 246cc Lambretta engine for the Italian market.

Both cars start, run, steer, brake, drive, as they should. The way they drive matches the very low mileages. Everything works properly.

They are both equipped with their original soft tops, apparently never used as they look like new.

Both cars still show the first registration number and they still sport the first registration black plate. Both were sold to first owners living in the same area of manufacturing: Turin (“TO” on the registration) for the Ferves, Milan (“MI” on the registration) for the Lawil. I have the original first document (Italian “Libretto” ) for both.

You can see hundred photos of both cars here: https://mymicrocars.shutterfly.com

I prefer not to split the package, hence please don’t ask.

I set a sensible reserve price for such a rare package of cars in absolute stock condition, never restored, always properly cared, but please don’t ask. Just bid, if you are interested, accordingly with the price you are prepared to pay for them.

I can store both cars, free of charge, for 4 weeks in a safe and dry storage. I will be pleased to help the buyer with transportation and shipping, offering the best assistance I can.

Don’t hesitate to contact me if you need further information.

A $500 USD deposit is required within 24 hours from the end of the auction (PayPal), the balance within 7 days from the end of the auction (by bank transfer).
