1963 Studebaker Avanti R-1 4 Speed

Studebaker Avanti R-1 with 4 speed and A/C. Engine completely rebuilt. New water pump, fuel pump, solid state distributer, R-3 cast iron headers, new Edelbrock carb, SS flex fan, and new internal regulator alternator. New exhaust system.
T-10 Transmission completely rebuilt and new clutch assembly and bearing. Studebaker shifter rebuilt and is tight and sure.Air conditioning is converted to R134a with new rotary compressor, Drier, expansion valve, hoses and condenser. Evap and blower are Studebaker. Blows cold.
Body has had a recent repaint with clear coat. All glass I believe is original. Power windows are Nu-Relics, a newer conversion, and work well. All weatherstrip is new. Carpet is not new but has been replaced recently and has sound deadening underneath. New interior. Torque boxes are sound and any rust has been repaired. Front and rear bumpers have new chrome. New Retro Sound AM/FM Bluetooth hands free radio with new stereo speakers in the original front and rear locations. Dash cover is a new repop. Most lighting, including headlights, has been changed to LED's.
Chassis was sandblasted and some rust in rear was repaired. Front end rebuilt and new shocks. Brakes had been rebuilt very recently but are the Studebaker discs. I added polished dual master cylinder and new booster. Five new Tires.
Things you need to know;Right front fender and right headlight area have been replaced sometime in the past. A very good job but you can tell from under hood. Windshield, while good, has some small chips but no cracks. Right headlight chrome trim ring is in terrible condition, but a new one is on back order. Door alignment is typical for an Avanti, good but not great. Paint is also very good but not great. I don't think the clear was ever final polished after application. It has an SW mechanical heat gauge. Works great but not an exact cosmetic match. Brakes, while good, are Studebaker and could use modern discs. You will note the trunk mounted battery, a new Optima. Works well. The original location for the tractor battery is still there if you so desire. In fact nothing has been modified to any extent that it couldn't be restored to original.

This a great everyday car and more. Very solid and reliable. Car runs and idles with cold air in Texas heat and never overheats.
