This is the perfect candidate for restoration. It is 100% complete and when it comes to 1970 Charger's that means the world. Many parts on a 1970 are unique to that model year so to find one that is complete, runs and drives is a great start. 383 2bbl with automatic transmission and console. 741 case (open) 8 3/4 differential. Factory Air Conditioning.
THIS CAR NEEDS RESTORED AND IS NOT CONSIDERED A DRIVER QUALITY IN IT'S CURRENT STATE. IT DOES RUN, DRIVE, STEER AND BRAKE REALLY WELL. IT HAS AN EXHAUST LEAK AND MULTIPLE FLUID LEAKS.
Original engine and transmission as well as nearly every single component, is original to the car. This car was a one owner before I saved it. See the picture of it pulling a boat in 1970. This vehicle has not been road driven in decades but is very close now. All of the lights work except the dash lights. The headlight motor is complete and works but only with direct power. I believe the switch or relay is bad or corroded from sitting. Most gauges don't work either. There has been paint work to the left side at least. It's hard to tell for certain, but it appears there is a lot of original paint on the car. We removed the vinyl top remnants and sanded it all down and put DP20 over it (epoxy) Here is an inventory of metal that will need repaired or replaced. I have done my best to be realistic in my evaluation but since the car is NOT stripped to bare metal, I can't see everything. REPLACEMENT: Rear valance and corners. Rear cross member and extensions. Frame rails in rear are really solid except the mounting area of the rear cross member (repairable). Trunk Floor and both extensions. L&R quarter panels. L&R outer wheel houses (would patch easily). LR inner Wheelhouse needs small patch. L&R outer rockers. L&R inner rockers. Torsion bar crossmember small section on passenger's side at rocker. Main floor.
REPAIRABLE: L&R Fenders need patches at bottom in rear. Left fender has considerable damage on top surface but is repairable. Left fender has rust at top in damaged area that will need repair/patch. Dutchman panel is solid but damaged and could be repaired or replaced. Roof needs small rust repair at seams. Hood has hole in underside at secondary latch but is patchable. Hood is dented a lot on outside but is repairable. Upper cowl panel was dented in hard like something fell on it, but we roughed it out. Will need repaired or section replacement. Trunk lid is mostly solid except minor surface rust at seam but is also full of dents on top and will need repaired. Doors are very solid and left door had a dent we pushed out but needs more work. GREAT NEWS: Front inner fender areas, cowl, firewall, coresupport, frame rails are all very clean and restorable. Interior is complete and restorable in FK4 Burnt Orange with no cuts or modifications. Seat belts are restorable and complete. All glass is solid and fully functional. Doors open and close properly. All locks are keyed to original keys except ignition. Tail lights and finish panel are very clean and will restore nicely. Tail light cover is there and is repairable. Jack and spare are in place. Original Rallye wheels are STILL on the car as well as original Acorn lug nuts. BEST OF ALL...complete, complete, complete air conditioning system in tact with great vents and registers. I just bought a complete A/C set up for my 1970 and is was over 5k. These cars and parts are rare so to find one complete is a gift. PLEASE ASK ANY QUESTIONS AS I HAVE EXTENSIVE KNOWLEDGE AND PICTURES OF THIS CAR.
