1989 Laforza NO RESERVE AUCTION!!!The Mercedes-Benz Geländewagen was still a Spartan, military-inspired truck in the late 1980s when Rayton Fissore S.p.A., of Cherasco, Italy, turned its Magnum 4x4 into a leather-lined, Ford V-8-powered premium luxury sport utility vehicle for the American market. Called theLaforza(which translates to “the force”), it was arguably the first true competitor to Britain’s upmarket Range Rover.Show original messageThis 5,000-pound SUV was imported to the U.S. by Laforza Automobiles of North America, the Michigan company that installed its American-spec running gear: the fuel-injected 5.0-liter V-8—making 185 hp and 270 lb-ft of torque—and four-speed/overdrive automatic transmission were out of contemporary Ford trucks, mated to a four-wheel-drive system with two-speed transfer case. Justifying its $43,900 MSRP ($95K in today’s money!) were leather-trimmed power seats, burl-walnut accents, a power moon roof, alloy wheels, and more.It’s estimated that up to 1,200 examples, in total, were sold in the U.S.. This Particular vehicle has extremely low mileage, due to the fact that it was not sold on the market when imported and refitted to US standards. While the body of this particular Laforza is in exceptional condition, the paint is what you would call a "10 footer".
