Description of 1972 Other Makes |
This is my 1972 Pinzgauer 710K ex Swiss Army Radio Truck. I have owned and enjoyed for the last 4 years covering less than 1000 miles in that time. The worst off road use in that time has been following some WW2 jeeps along a gravel trial. The reason for the sale is that the vehicle has seen little use this year compared to other vehicles in my collection. so I want to pass the vehicle onto someone who will use and enjoy the vehicle more. My Austrian made Pinzgauer features the portal axle design similar to the Unimog and is a 1 ton configuration truck. This vehicle has swing axles and an air-cooled 4 cylinder inline Steyr Daimler Puch gas engine with Petronix electronic ignition for improved reliability and performance. It also features differential locks for both axles. This is an excellent. high-speed. medium-duty. off-road fun and work vehicle. One useful item will always attract attention is the roof hatch. which I know some buyers use for hunting. On road speed in theory is 75MPH. but with the more agressive tires I would stay below 65MPH. This vehicle is surprisingly comfortable. thanks to the independant coil suspension. The total miles on the vehicle are 35. 00 Miles (55. 00KM) The Vehicle was repainted 6 years ago from standard army green to beige by T-LO. who also installed the 9000LB Warn Winch and winch bumper. ( Note the winch has never been used). Also at that time larger tires were fitted. noting the spare has never been used. Pinzgauers owners manual. nbsp; service and parts manuals are included Comes with snow chains and standard Pinzgauer tool kit which are stored under the middle rear seat. 24v to 12v inverter installed so GPS and phone charging can be used. There are a couple rust bubbles on the roof and at bottom of front left side below winch bumper. which have been treated with POR 15 (See photos). but considering the truck is over 40 years old. is not concerning. One patch is place where the drivers footwell corroded through. all the corrosion was removed and replaced with new metal. The Pinzgauer has been serviced since I purchased the truck by Expedition Autoworks in Minneapolis who have 4 customers who bring their Pinzgauers there for service. Apart from normal servicing in the last 4 years. the twin carbs have been rebuilt. and the manual winshield washer has been replaced. all with genuine parts. Parts are easily available in the USA from dealers such as T-LO and Swiss Army Vehicles which are not expensive. One final word of warning if you purchase this vehicle. simple tasks like filling up with gas can take a long time. as people will constantly come over and want to know what the vehicle is and if it will float ( which it will not). This is not a vehicle a shy person should purchase |
