Gateway Classic Cars of St. Louis is proud to offer a one of a kind 1949 Packard Convertible. This amazing machine has undergone quite a transformation. When the car was located in need of restoration, rather than restore to stock, the owner decided to go over the top with this one. The frame has been stripped and customized to fit new suspension and coated to display just as nice as the top side. The old leak springs are long gone and this baby now rides on air bags in all four corners. The front end has tubular control arms and rack and pinion steering. The car now rides like it is on air which is perfect for a comfortable cruiser like this. She rides on beautiful spoke wheels which really complete the overall look of the vehicle. The exterior is jet black which shows off the smooth body and lets the grill, bumpers, and wheels stand out. With a convertible, the interior is just as important as the exterior. In this Packard they're gone with a cream upholstery to contrast the dark exterior paint color. Bucket seats front and rear provide seating for four to cruise in style and comfort. The interior features a beautiful dash with full instrumentation and even a GPS screen and a TV. This is one 1 of 3 total TV screens which can be viewed from the front or rear seats. A custom built console runs front to back to house the others as well as the power window switches and storage cubbies. Although this is a comfortable cruiser, she packs quite a punch under the hood. The power plant in this baby is a 601 CID Fuel Injected V8. This big block sports a custom intake, and beautifully manufactured stainless exhaust. Backing the 601 is a 4L80-E transmission which leads to a 9" rear end. This custom machine really has it all: a rare and beautiful body style, a top that goes down with the press of a button, beautiful paint, beautiful interior, and a big block engine that will pass everything but a gas station.
