Description of 1939 Packard

For Sale-- 1939 Packard Touring Sedan 1700 [ 6 cyl ] This is a restorer's dream. Over my 81 years I have restored a number of cars and believe me this is the kind I always hoped for. The known history of this Packard is. in1986 it was taking to a restoration shop in Warrenton Va. It was disassembled and some work was done. but money became a issue. so it sit inside for 6 years. I saw it upon a visit to the shop and bought it and resold it to a guy in my town. he stored it in his garage from 1991 until 2week ago. I bought it back. it has always been stored inside. he Packard has a complete new exhaust system. the gas tank has been sent off and reconditioned. the engine seem to have been rebuilt while in the restoration shop [ see sign of new gaskets all over] it run very well and the clutch feel smooth. the only body work needed is the driver door has a kink at the upper hinge. the big job will be the interior needs to be completely done. but all good for patterns. Note- Fred Kanter Packards sells the upholstery kits for the seat. the Carpets and the Headliner and almost anything needed to help with the restoration of this very solid Packard. The under carriage is clean. even the battery box is rust free. a lot of the chrome seem to have been redone. The rear fenders are just loose bolted on and also the front sheet metal. This Packard was sold new at Packard Charlottesville of Charlottesville Va 8/14/1939[ Data plate]. when delivered it had Deluxe seats. Deluxe steering wheel. fog lights and Radio and Heater also deluxe hood ornament. The gauges. charging system. horn and heater fan work. If you ever wanted a good solid Packard 95% rust free to restore this is it. Packard come with Owner Manual . Shop Manual. paint chip chart and a few extra parts I corrected the mileage in description. the mileage is 68000 not 104000 that was for a VW conv I might sell later. The Packard is complete. the only item I noted is the inside door and window handle are not correct. If I was a younger man in better health I would love to restore this very solid Packard to it great beauty. Note Because if it age No warranty is giving or expressed written or oral.
