Description of 1965 Plymouth Other |
!NO RESERVE AUCTION!Awesome 1965 Plymouth Valiant.Absolutely complete. Great shape for a car more than 50 years old. A great way to start off in the classic car arena. The 1963 to 1966 Plymouth Valiants are an ideal first collector car. They are economical to buy and run, imple to fix, nd they really don't go wrong. You'd be hard pressed to find another 65 Valiant in this condition for less. Get into some MOPAR madness for a fraction of the cost of the traditional bad boys. !!!THIS CAR WILL SELL WITH NO RESERVE!!!Starting the bidding off at less than three grand, ith a reasonable buy it now price. Runs great when warm, little rough starting when cold. Fun to drive, bsolutely, ut it's a slant 6...not a hard core speed machine. No major rust issues...solid body. Not in any way a rust bucket. The hard work has already been done to this car, nd it's just in need of someone else to drive it around or continue to play with it. Here's what's been done: Floors have been patched, ealed, nd coated with heatshieldand FatMat sounddeadenerprior to carpet installation.Original split bench front and full bench rear seat were cleaned up and reinstalled.Original slant 6 engine, reshened up and more presentable. External temp gauge added to inner passenger side fenderHead has been reworked with new valves and hardened seats to be able to run on unleaded gas. New head gasket installed as well.Exterior paint is in great condition, nd shows very well with new gunmetal gray paint, lacked out trim, nd hand laid stripes.Interior panels have all been redone in black vinyl with red retainer trim to match the exterior paint scheme.Lower dash painted to match interior panelsFlip up starter bypass.Auxiliary fuse block (controlled by secondary switch) installed behind radio delete panel and ready for accessory connectionsUpdated oil pressure, oltage, nd tachometer added to dash.New carpet throughout the vehicleVintage tri-star side mirror installed1964 grille installed to replace the original 1965 grille (original grille comes with the car as well)New Carter 1bbl carb installed (comes with the original carb as well)New batteryNew spark plugs and wiresNew spark plug tube gasketsNew points and capNew mechanical fuel pump with external visible filterNew PCV valveAll new hoses (upper and lower radiator, eater core, acuum advance)New trunk mat (vinyl) installed. All electrical wiring traced and verified. All grounds cleaned. What could still be done: It could use a tune up and a gasket refresh. Complete gasket set comes with the car.Needs door weather strip / windlace installed if you're going to drive it in the rain. The original set was ratty, orn, nd just terrible...so I took it out. But honestly...you really don't want to drive this in the rain, o you?Doors could also use some window felts. I personally didn't find them necessary, ut someone else might.I took the locks off to paint the car. Never reinstalled them. They're included and will go with the car, omplete with the locking clips. No junk.It desperately deserves a loud exhaust system. I'm including either a set of 6-1 headers or a set of 6-3-2 headers. Your choice. See pics for both sets.Horn doesn't work. I got the car with a ridiculous mariachi air horn setup, nd just decided to rip it out. Never installed a new one.Speedometer cable. Doesn't exist. I never bought a new one...just kept up with traffic. ...Again...no major engine work, o body work, o suspension work, o major component replacements. Just minor stuff. What Else in included with the car:I've got a whole lot of standard maintenance parts that I've accumulated to keep the car on the road. Take a look at the pictures to see what I mean. 2 new wheel cylinders2 new sets of brake shoes (front and rear)2 new brake drums2 new sets of drum hardwareA few extra spark plugs1 new high flow oil filter1 new turn signal column cam4 driver condition OEM hub caps1 extra vintage tri-star exterior mirror2 sets of tail light lenses (one original to the car, ne repro)2 original interior arm rests2 original arm rest cushions (need to be recovered)2 reproduction arm rest cushions (black)2 original external door locks with new OEM gasket set1 new AC Delco small FF, igh rev starter1 new OEM neutral safety switch2 new motor mounts1 extra steering wheel with horn ring1 original 1bbl Carter Carburetor1 OEM reconditioned windshield wiper motor1 choice of headers1 complete FelPro Slant six gasket set The Linx Webber side draft intake system, s well as the complete Super 6 intake and shift linkage kit is only included if the car sells for the full asking price.
