Description of 1967 Plymouth Fury III |
The car for sale is a1967 Plymouth Fury III with a 383 4 Barrel engine and a factory 4 speed. That is not a typo, t's a 4 barrel, door, speed. Not sure how many of these they made but it can't be many. The story on this one is the original owner went into Bryant Motors in Renton, ashington in November of 1966 with his son to order a new car. Bryant sold a lot of performance cars so on the dealer lot sat a brand new 1967 Plymouth GTX 440 4 Speed in red. The son says "we should get that car Dad!" and Dad told him "no son, e need to get a family car" so they ordered basically the 4 door Fury version of a 67 GTX. Funny thing is the Mom was barely 5 feet tall, t must have been a handful in Seattle with manual steering and brakes in a 4 speed full size car. She was a 2nd grade teacher and her students called it "The Teacher's Hot Rod" ! Somebody added power steering to it in the 70's. Original options included bumper guards, M radio, ear speaker, loth seats, 30 horse 383 4 barrel engine, 33 4 speed transmission, .23 rear gears, ear defrost, nd a trunk light. I've owned this car for about 10 years now and it always turns heads at car shows. People just can't believe that big shifter sticking out of the floor. Been able to track down most of the previous owners. I personally daily drove it for 4-5 years but bought a new truck and have been driving that now. The car is a nice driver type vehicle but it is starting to get a little tired. It could use a front end rebuild, he interior is a little faded, nd the engine is leaking a little oil. It has the original steel wheels with the Plymouth dog dishhub caps. We put on a set of vintage F78-14 Goodyear Power Cushion tires and we love the look. The body is very solid with only a few small bubbles in the 1/4 panels. It has no underside rust and the frame rails are perfect. Only selling this one because my brother is selling his 1970 Chrysler 300 Convertible. Going to be sad to see it go but just got a 1968 Plymouth Sport Fury 440 4 speed convertible and that one will satisfy my 4 gear C-Body needs. Please e-mail us to set up an appointment to see the car. Feel free to ask any questions about the Fury. The car is located in Shelton, ashington, hich is about an hoursouth of Seattle, ashington and an hour and a half north of Portland, regon. Every effort has been made to make an accurate description of this car, ut some things were probably missed. The car is not perfectand this is being sold with no warranties expressed or implied. We would be comfortable driving this car anywhere although heading east in the winter might be a little dicey. Have a clear title in my name. We accept Money Orders, ashier's Check, r Wire Transfer.
