Description of 1969 Plymouth Road Runner RM 21 |
ATTENTION!!!!!To those who had bids on the original listing, t was cancelled due to an incorrect description. This is not a numbers matching engine & transmission.I was told by the person I bought the car from that it was the original engine. He showed me the engine block pad on the right side that is stamped: E 3831 18 2 HP Stating that its original. Today, or the first time, looked on the internet for the information on how to verify the engine. The spot on the right side of the block above the oil pan rail does not have the same VIN number as the car. The block cast number is 24681308 which once looked up meant 69-71 383.I apologize for any inconvenience I might have caused. I do not want to mislead anyone. To view additional photos in image shack please email me for the link for the 83 photos. Image shack has a non-clickable link and ebay will not allow it.Please read complete description in its entirety!! This is a NO RESERVE auction and will sell to the highest bidderThis is an authentic RoadRunner Project Car. This is NOT a clone or tribute car. It is a real roadrunner RM21 post car.It has the original matching fender plate (see photos). It needs a complete restoration, ut is a low miles (43,000) with a great foundation to build on.I purchased the car to restore but have since moved onto another project that is more fitting for my family. The car is being presented just the way I purchased it.I was told it came from Florida many years ago to Ohio where it was in long time storage. For most of its life, he car has been in a coastal region in Florida with salt air judging by the way the car rusted. To start with the following are ALL AMAZINGLY SOLID:
The fuel lines and brake lines were removed in theirentirety and are equally as niceThe hood is beautiful and obviously not the original off the car.The front fenders are completely rust free. The doors have beautiful seams and lips. The rear wheel wells inner and outers are extremely clean with only one hole found on the right inner wheel well and in the trunk area. The lips and seams on the quarter panel wheel well openings are very solid. The gas tank is very clean . The bad - THE RUST:The rear quarters will need to be completely replaced. They have body filler in the lower areas and are rotted along the lower areas and are rotted along the trunk lip area. The trunk lid is rotted and needs replaced. The section between the rear window and the trunk lid is completely shot and needs replaced. The rear windshield area of the roof is rotted bad and requiresa lot of work. The sail panels have rot holes as well (see photos). The front windshield and dash area look good; however, here is rot along the inside roof member where the sun visors would mount. The passenger door will need a new skin. It has suffered damage and somebody tried to work it out. However, t is a mess. The front floor pans and trunk pan will need replaced (as seen inhoots). Again, he floor section under the rear seat is rock solid. The car comes with a new trunk pan.The car comes with all the glass. The front and rear windshields are laying in place loosely and will have to be wrapped and secured inside the car for transporting. The engine is a 383 HP. I have a pair of original HP exhaust manifolds that come with the car. They are part # 2806900 and 2843992-1.The engine does run and sounds good. It is run off aremote gas can.It has an aftermarket carb and intake. The radiator appears to be original to thecar and in great shape. The car is notdrivable as the driveshaft is out. It was removed to put new u-joints in which I have but were never installed. Also there are no brakes since the brake lines were removed. The car comes with a decent set of factory magnum 500 wheels, ront bumpers (cores) and brackets. (See photos). It is missing many parts. It isapparent someone has been picking at the car over the years. If you do not see it in the photos then I do not have it. It is that simple. AGAIN if its not in the photos I DONT HAVE IT.The car comes with a clear matching Ohio title and fender tag. This car is not a clone or tribute as some of the other ones that are out there and essentially fakes. Please note - We can help you with the loading of the car at our end, ut all costs and arrangements of the pickup are strictly your responsibility. An immediate $ 500non-refundabledeposit within 48 hours is required from the winning bidder via paypal.
