Description of 1940 Plymouth Other Wagon |
Very nice 1940 Plymouth P10 Deluxe WoodyWagon. Engine no. P15133003 Under the hood is the familiar 201ci, L-head straight six producing 84hp. It has a 3 speed column shift that engages easily. This is the Model P10, with the longer 137" wheelbase. It is a Deluxe Station Wagon finished in Vineyard Green with three rows of bench seats covered in brown vinyl. The wood bracing, which is more than just decorative on these wagons, is beautifully presented and appears to be original based on the rich graining. Inside, the wood continues with the an array of steam bent slats longitudinally supporting the roof and beautiful hardwood floorboards. Charles Crail, the classic Rolls Royce dealer, purchased this wagon from the Rick Levine estate. He had it for a few years, and I bought it from him in 2012. It has been carefully garaged, maintained, and minimally used. Likely the subject of an older restoration, the car has held up well through the years and has gained a lovely patina, with only a couple small areas of delamination as shown in the photos. It has an array of period-correct stickers from a variety of Woody-appropriate locations across the rear window, and is a great running car. Good luck, and let me know if you have any questions. |
