Description of 1969 Plymouth Road Runner road runner |
1969 1/2 A12 road runner in rare X9 Black velvet! This car is coming from my best friend's private collection. The car was previously owned by another friend who owned the car for over 17 years, so I know a lot about this car. This is a real deal M code A12 road runner, in the ultra popular and sinister X9 Black velvet. The paint on this car is a 9.5 out of 10 as well as the body, very straight as you can see in the pictures. Rotisserie body and paint by T&F collision in Michigan. The car was restored over 15 years ago in base coat clear coat and it still looks amazing. The car has had a pair of quarters installed as well as a driver floor pan and trunk, but was done correctly with no seems left to see. The inside of the quarter panels were sprayed with the correct sound deadening and painted over just like the factory. The bottom of the car was painted gloss X9 black at the same time as the rest of the car. The only modification is front to rear frame ties to help stiffen the car. Heavy duty super stock springs are new also. This is not the original engine or transmission. Since it was missing, the previous owner put his own touches to the engine. Its a true 10.1:1 compression 1972 440. .030 over pistons, with correct six pack internals. Indy SR heads with the correct Edelbrock aluminum intake and has the 2300 series Holley "Six Barrel" carbs. Correct date coded small font 054 rad. Correct original hood restored in organisol with correct original air cleaner. MSD ignition installed with a 6000 rpm chip. The 727 transmission was also redone at that time with new parts and a reverse manual valve body. The correct original 1969 Dana 60 is still out back with 4.10 cogs. TTI jet hot coated headers are installed with 3" TTI exhaust that has been jet hot coasted with stainless 3" correct appearing road runner exhaust trumpets. The entire interior is all new Legendary. Dash was painted in the correct suede finish. Guages were detailed, but for more accuracy the previous owner put a three gauge pod under the dash for coolant, oil pressure and fuel tank level. All stainless has been polished and all pot metal is restored including vent window frames and tail light bezels. Grille is a new Goodmark unit with mint original head light bezels. This car was torn down and completely rebuilt top to bottom. No expense was spared. G70-15 Firestone tires are mounted on X9 black 15x6 Mopar steel wheels with the correct dimpled lug nuts. Brakes are drum rear and Stainless steel brakes corporation vented front disc using a manual disc master cylinder. New MoPar battery last week. The fender tag is the original one, but I do not have a broad cast sheet or window sticker. I do have a TON of paperwork documenting the full restoration and title work back to 1981. This is an awesome opportunity to get into a real M code road runner black car for a lot less then some projects have been trading hands recently. Car is FAST! Never been raced but would surely go in the high 11's.Rare options include bucket seats, console, rocker moldings, light group with NOS turn signals, decor group, and factory tachometer. Reserve is low, you could not build the car for this price. My best friend wants to sell. I reserve the right to end the auction early as I do have the car for sale locally as of today. Bidders with less then 10 positive feedbacks need to contact me in advance of bidding. No warranty is expressed or implied. This car is sold in as is condition due to vehicle age. I am selling the car on behalf of my friend, but I have it in my possesion to show the car as I would recommend to any serious parties. Happy Ebaying. |
