Description of 1971 Plymouth Fury Custom

Up for auction is an unbelievably nice 1971 Plymouth Fury Custom Suburban Station Wagon; Road Runner tribute car.

This car could be referred to as a time capsule, barn find, garage queen, survivor and then some!

With only 49,950 original miles and gorgeous All original paint and glass, NO RUST! This car is truly all the above and then some. Amazing!!

The interior is also just as amazing and all original with the exception of the 3rd rear facing seat. It was taken from a donor car and was professionally reupholstered to match the front seats. Gray carpet was professionally installed in the rear cargo area. All was very nicely done and looks great. It’s a fun place for the kids to ride!

This car has some very nice upgrades which were all done in very good taste and does not take away from the originality of the car, such as BFG TA Radials on Mopar Rally wheels (275-60-15 on rear and 245-60-15 on front) giving it a mean stance. These were all bought new from JEGS about 4,500 miles ago. Also upgraded, an Edlebrock intake manifold, 4 bbl Holley carb on its original very strong running 360 engine that still has its factory original light blue paint. It has an electric fan for the radiator, nice dress-up valve covers and chrome air cleaner. Also new is Blue Accel plug wires and Sanderson Block hugger headers with 2 ½ “ dual exhaust with Flow Master mufflers and chrome Magna Flow exhaust tips. It sounds AWESOME!!

The car also has 4 new NAPA shocks and a complete front end alignment. A new brake master cylinder was just installed; the brake fluid system was flushed and properly bled. Pads and shoes were inspected and are all in very good shape. This was done about 100 miles ago. The 727 transmission was recently professionally rebuilt about 500 miles ago to freshen it up with all new seals, O-rings, fluids, etc… It shifts great.

All that said, this car starts, runs, and with its power steering and power brakes, it drives and stops very well. It is an absolute hoot to cruise around in and it gets an unbelievable amount of attention. The best thing is you can take the whole family with you. So fun!

The car has an awesome stereo unit that includes blue tooth, IPod connector, Sirius XM, CD, amp, and sub-woofer. It sounds great. It was all professionally installed, very nicely done, which allows you to enjoy the modern day amenities while driving a nostalgic cool car.

The car has a new Bosch Retro tachometer from JEGS and a very nicely done hand stitched leather wrapped steering wheel.

All windows have been tinted dark. These were also professionally done nicely. They give the car a really cool look and a nice dark feel on inside while cruising around town!

By the way, this is a lifelong Montana car up until recently when it was brought to Wyoming. It has always been in a very dry climate, so again, no rust what-so-ever! It was sold new in Billings Montana where it stayed until about 5 years ago when it went to Bozeman to its 2nd owner who did the upgrades, then to me, its 3rd owner, in Wyoming.

It has always been garage kept and very meticulously maintained by its loyal owners.

This car will come with its original owner’s manual, brochure and a folder of receipts totaling over $6,000 of upgrades that have been done to this car within the last 4,500 miles. The original parts from the car’s upgrades such as intake manifold, carburetor, air cleaner, valve covers, exhaust manifolds, fan, rear storage compartment metal folding cover, AM radio, speaker and some extra head lamps and wiper blades will be included.

The car also has a fresh engine oil change and front end lube job (tie rod ends, ball joints, etc.). The tie rod ends and ball joint rubber boots are still in good shape and hold the grease in properly.

This awesome “Road Runner Wagon” needs nothing that I know of. It is ready for a new home and family to enjoy it!

Again, this car is ALL original Unrestored and is extremely nice! BUT keep in mind, it is a 45 year old car and does have a few minor dings, scratches and imperfections.

This car is definitely car show worthy just how it sits and can be driven to and from the car shows with confidence and a great deal of enjoyment and smiles from the whole family and admirers!
