Description of 1970 Plymouth Hemi Cuda |
Remarkable in Photos...Breathtaking in Person... this 1970 Plymouth HEMI Cuda is a vision in Blue and White and a Classic Car Collector's Dream. We have the feeling the person who walked into Wills Motor Company in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and ordered this new Hemi Cuda wasplanning to show nothing but tail lights. Never commonplace, this car is one of 284 examples produced that year with thelegendary NASCAR-derived monster motor and a 4-speed transmission. Featuring wonderful provenance, this car comes with two original assembly line broadcast sheets, as well as its original window sticker. The odometer now shows 11,877 miles, and the car has an extensive ownership history - WOW! Beneath its argent-colored Shaker hood scoop is the period-correct Chrysler 426 CI Hemi engine, which plays host to correct-style dual 4-barrel carburetors, exhaust manifolds and a heavy-duty radiator. Turn the key and hear the deep rumble that has always beenrespected as one of the most notorious sounds to emerge from Detroit in this era. A driver's machine with a penchant for quick acceleration, the desirable factory A833 4-speed manual transmission is itself part of this car's factory A34 Super Track Pack option, which included the extreme-duty 4.10 Dana 60 rear axle. Equipped with power brakes and rear defrost, the car is finished in its complementary combination of B5 Blue over its original-colorwhite interior, accented with black hockey-stick sport stripes, J45 hood pins, belt and rocker moldings, exhaust tips and road lamps. Inside, one finds the Hurst Pistol Grip shifter, Rally dash design with podded tachometer and clock, AM radio and deluxe wood-grain trimaccents. The original body numbers, floors, trunk and most of its original sheet metal remain intact on this well-preserved vehicle, whichrides on the optional 15-inch Rallye road wheels with Goodyear Polyglas GT tires.
