Description of 1974 Plymouth Road Runner -- |
You might not often see a 1974 Plymouth Road Runner, but more than just rarity, you're getting a heck of a lot of Mopar for the money. With a performance-built fuel-injected 440 V8, four-on-the-floor, upgraded suspension, and a whole lot of attitude to back it all up, this is a powerful classic coupe that's pure intimidation. 1974 would be the last year for the legendary second-generation Road Runners. They never again felt quite so sleek or bold after this one, and so we understand exactly why someone would take the time, effort, and investment into making a powerful street machine. The factory-correct Frost Green has a bold presence. Plus, the stipe package really highlights some of the best features. It draws attention to the bulge in the hood with twin scoops. Plus, it runs the length of the coupe before wrapping around the top and showcasing an almost pillarless hardtop profile. Plus, the white Plymouth script on the rear fenders has a great NASCAR-style look while also drawing attention to the extra-wide rear rubber. And against all this brightness are some great black details, like the blackout grille, front air dam, rear window lovers, and full-with rear spoiler. It's a total package that screams Mopar muscle. Inside, the distinct interior continues the white and green attitude. Button-top high-back bucket seat and wood-like trim give this vintage appeal. They even upgraded your driving tunes with an AM/FM/CD stereo that includes a USB input and Bluetooth. But it's not the comfort that really appeals to you on this one. Instead you can tell this is a true performance machine. It has classic features like the wood-rimmed steering wheel and iconic pistol-grip shifter. That combines with modern upgrades like a hood tach with LED backlight and a Sniper EFI control panel for the major upgrade in the engine bay. There's nothing better than lifting the hood and seeing it all filled with an ultra-tidy presentation of Mopar big block muscle. This is the mighty 440 cubic-inch V8. And while the displacement is enough to make you weak in the knees, this also has terrific performance upgrades like a Mopar Performance dual plane intake and Holley Sniper fuel injection system. It even has the right supporting components like welded aluminum valve covers, serpentine belts, an Optima red top battery, and an aluminum radiator. It fires up eagerly like a proper FI machine should and gives a terrific big block rumble out of the dual exhaust. And you are in complete control of all this power and its thunderous soundtrack thanks to the four-speed manual transmission. This feeds a rear end that has the right upgrades like a sway bar and large traction bars. Plus, you have power steering and power brakes w/discs up front to round-out a package that offer good control. This is the last of the best Road Runners, and it has been upgraded to truly uphold the Mopar muscle legend. So don't let this fuel-injected classic get away. Call today!!! |
