I have had this car for several years and have had the 389 rebuilt, dded front disc brakes (Scarebird), ew rebuilt rear brakes, ew exhaust system, ew tires and 1960's (torque thrust type) ET wheels. It also has air shocks on the rear. The 389 was rebuilt to 330 horse specs with a '67 GTO cam. The exhaust system is completely new from the Mad Dog headers, hru theFlow Masters and the new 2-1/2 inch exhaust tubing. It has an aluminum intake with a Holley 650cfm 4bbl carb, luminum finned valve covers anda matching finned air cleaner. The body is solid with several rough spots. The worst being the left rear, ehind the rear wheel well. (I have a patch panel). The front fenders have been professionally patched and primed but the fenders are now showing surface rust. The interior was nice until a crack appeared in the driver seat about two years ago. The driver side seat panel now needs to be recovered and original material is still available. The lower portion of the door panels suffer a non-professional repair job years ago. New re-pop door panels using the original material are still available and it will need new carpet. All glass is good and the tailgate glass mechanism works. However, he radio and gas gauge do not work and the car has developed a leak in the gas tank. It's not perfect by a long-shot but it's one of those cars you really don't see everywhere, ..especially a 389 4-speed!! You'd almost be guaranteed to have to only one on your block or at the next car show. In fact, 961 Pontiacs of any type seldom appear at cars shows. I've driven it on several 400 mile trips; Daytona Turkey Run, yrtle Beach Run to the Sun and several trips to Atlanta. In spite of the high horse 389 in a big ol' wagon it still gets around 15 mpg, ..if you can keep your foot out of it. The carhas been adult driven, my stupid driving days are over. It is very reliable and I would drive it anywhere. I build reliability into my cars first then tackle the interior and paint. Recently I've decided to thin out the heard and sell this car two other cars. My wife and i deceided that we wanted a smaller car for long distance trips. IfI had room for it I'd never sell it, ..butI don't. The car has been driven less than 4,000 miles since the upgrades. I encourage you or a friend to come to coastal Georgia and look at the car. I live very close to the Savannah, eorgia airport. Fly-in and drive it home!! So, fter all of that, ..It has the following: Newly re-built 389 cu in engine (less than 4000 miles since re-build) Mad Dog headers New exhaust system w/2-1/2 inch tubing Aluminum finned valve covers. Different breathers are now on the car. Aluminum finned 4bbl air cleaner Holley 650cfm 4 bbl carb. Muncie 4-speed New clutch, ressure plate, ilot bearing and throw-out bearing New brakes with front Scarebird discs Rebuilt rear drum brakes New brake lines throughout New brake master cylinder New proportion valve 1960's (torque thrust type) ET wheels (15" 5x5) w/blackwall tires (95% tread). Air shocks on the rear. Contact me using ebay message and list your phone number. Email conversations can go on forever.
