Description of 1976 Pontiac Trans Am |
1976 Pontiac Trans Am 50th anniversary SE tribute Fresh 455, speed, lack on Black beauty Thank you for looking at my auction. This is an auction for a nice, ood driving 1976 Trans Am. This car was originally a 400, speed car but now has a strong running 455 in it. I will describe the car to the best of my ability. I hate to sell it but as I look around I realize I have too many cars and I can't give them the attention they need. This is the first of several auctions I will be posting over the next few weeks. Body/paint: This car has a real straight body with nice, hiny paint. It is by no means a perfect body but it does show very well. It was painted several years ago and does have some minor chips here and there but is overall straight and very presentable. I would give the body and paint an 8 out of 10. I recently added all of the SE stripes and decals from Phoenix graphics so they are nice and fresh looking. The floors, rames and trunk are all solid and rust free. The doors open and close well. Interior: The interior is overall clean and presentable. The seats are pretty clean with only minor wear. The carpet and headliner are in good condition. The plastic inside is all there and in good condition. The dash does have one crack in the middle about 3 inches long right on the curve of the dash. Some of the factory gauges don't work including the tachometer and fuel gauge but there are aftermarket gauges in place that work fine. The car is equipped with an aftermarket stereo. Mechanical: The car runs and drives excellent. The original 400 was replaced by a fresh 455 with about 1000 miles on it. It is nothing radical but it makes nice, mooth power. It has an aluminum intake and mild cam. When the engine was done there was a new flywheel and clutch installed. The transmission shifts smooth and the clutch feels great. The rear is a stock 2.41 posi rear so the car is easy to drive on the highway. All of the lights and blinkers work well and it also has a brand new fuel tank in it. The car has a nice set of honeycomb wheels with BFG radials. The brakes work well and the suspension is nice and tight. it is a nice running and shifting car that is a pleasure to drive. This is a 40 year old car that is not perfect but is a very nice car that gets thumbs up everywhere I go. You can't beat the look of a black and gold Trans Am, veryone loves them. If this were a real 455, speed SE car it would probably do $30,000+as the market continues to keep rising on these 70's Trans Ams. This one has a reasonable reserve and can be purchased with the right offer. It is being sold AS IS and the buyer will be responsible for shipping. I have a good contact for shipping so I can help arrange it for you. The more I deal with old cars the more I realize that you are better off spending the money for a nice car because projects always end up costing more in the end and you never get back what you put in unless you can do everything yourself. If you have any questions or would like any other pictures please email me and I will get back to you as soon as possible. Thanks for looking and good luck. |
