Description of 1968 Pontiac GTO |
|
A great original '68 GTO. Title is a BOX A, riginal 65,000 mile car! This GTO was originally primavera beige, ow red with a black vinyl top. The paint is fair with some chips/peeling on the bumper and minor scratches on the body. Chrome is in good condition. I purchased the car in 2009 and there have been no accidents or sheet metal repairs. And no rust. It was painted back then but an enthusiast may want a new paint job. It has only been driven intermittently just to keep things lubricated and prevent the gas from going bad. Original equipment is as follows: Turbo Hydra-matic Column Shift Pushbutton Radio Rear Seat Speaker Mirrors, isor Vanity Mirror, utside Remote Control Seat belts Custom Wheel Clock, lectric Power Steering Power Brakes Glass, oft Ray, indshield only 400, bbl, 50hp Besides the column shift, his car has a front bench seat. I replaced it with after market buckets (so I could have a head rest) and console but still have the original bench. Mechanically the car has had the following: Sway bar end link bushings Rebuilt front end/control arms/all new bushings New shocks New rear springs New plugs and wires Mallory electronic ignition New Mallory coil New digital radio (still have original) Vintage Air Conditioning Throttle Body Fuel Injection (still have original carb) The interior problems include cracked dash pad (the a/c dash pad was not easy to find, till have original), nstrument lenses are cloudy and so forth. Things you would expect for a 47 year old car. The GTO runs great, ounds good and starts about as easily as my 2012 Ford Fusion. Use it as a daily driver or give it some attention and turn it into something more special. This is a nice original survivor. If you would like the engine #'s or anything else, would be happy to oblige. |
