Description of 1966 Pontiac Le Mans |
You are bidding on a rare, uper solid, ll original, 9,000 mile, ARN FIND, 966 Pontiac LeMans. Options include...326ci engine, -speed powerglide transmission, ower steering, ucket seats, nd aluminum wheels. This beautiful LeMans is in mostly original condition from the engine to the interior! Truly a barn find! This Pontiac has been owned since '92 and has not been driven in 15 plus years. She still has all the dust and cobwebs, rare piece that would stand out in any collection. Yes, t does still start, un and drive! She is a beauty from the Fontaine Blue body and Cameo white top to the Parchment interior and tons of shiny chrome. With only 59,000 miles, he is in very nice condition with most of her parts! The body is very straight with no major visible issues. I believe the 326 cubic inch V8 and 2-speed powerglide automatic transmission are the original numbers-matching units for this car. She starts, uns and operates smoothly without any issues! She was a driver for years and then parked years ago. The owner longer drives her and would like to find his prized possession a new home! This is one car that could be restored to show condition without much trouble! This is a rare classic car with a reserve to protect some of its value. The owner wants the car to sell in this first auction - so, f you are interested, id on the auction. If the reserve is not met we will work with the high bidder to complete the sale. The Body is very solid, nice, hiny, nd straight with what looks like the original paint on most of the body. The car was brought up from Florida and purchased in '92 and was only driven in the summer on nice days. Never been in the snow or salt! There are no dents, ings, r damage to the body except for minor scratches and a couple of chips from the long storage. The body looks to be all-original with no major damage or body work performed. It does appear that the lower ¼'s may have had some minor body work and touch up paint but nothing serious! The area is straight and free from rust and bubbles, ust wanted to note it for the purists that get picky. Again, his car has been sitting for years and still has all the dust and cobwebs! She needs a full detailing, olishing and mechanical systems check! They are "ONLY ORIGINAL ONCE" , o this was left in the condition it was pulled out of the garage in. We chose not to detail it so that the new owner could decide how to restore it themselves. The condition of the chrome and brite work is very nice to excellent condition. Most just needs polishing and buffing. The side mirrors and door handles will need polishing and/or rechroming as the chrome is aged from sitting. Bumpers are nice and straight, nd will need the same attention as the door handles if making this a show car. The glass is in great condition with no cracks or delamination. Rear window and trunk filler area look great. No signs of rust or common issues which are commonly found here. The windows, oors, runk and hood operate as they should. The weatherstripping appears to be original and in great condition. The Parchment Interior is in nice shape with no rodent or mildew smell! With bucket seats and nearly damage-free interior she won't take much to restore. Again, his car has been sitting for years and will need a full interior detailing. Most of the interior is free from damage, ips or tears except for the headliner where mice made a nest. The rest of the interior looks to be rodent-damage free. The bucket seats are soft and still have padding but are dirty. The dash is in great shape with no cracks or damage. Most everything on the dash works (gauges, ights, irectionals, tc.) The steering wheelis in great condition with no cracks or damage! Carpeting and the door carpeting and slightly sun faded - probably from the Florida sun. They probably need to be dyed and/or replaced if restoring. The original radio was removed in the past and a new modern radio with a CD changer in the glove box were installed. The Drivetrain does operate! I installed a new battery, oints, nd coil with new fuel and it started right up without any issues, moke or noise! The 326ci engine and 2-speed powerglide transmission appear to be original units and we have also been told that by the owner. The 326ci engine runs great, dles and drives with no issues! I did have to change out the master cylinder and there are brakes now but they need to be bled. The original master will go with the car. The 2-speed automatic transmission appears to operate as it should from what I can tell from the limited test-driving in my driveway. It has NOT been driven on the road or up past 15 mph. Power steering is good. I did drive this around my yard and I don't think there are any more issues. All systems need to be checked, erviced and inspected before putting back on the road. Yes it does run and drive but would HIGHLY recommend this be trailered to it's new home, ot driven! The Undercarriageis in nice condition too. No rust or rot. Floor pans and frame are original and are in great condition. An undercoating was applied at some point in its life. Fuel and brake lines appear to be in good condition as well. Exhaust looks good too! The optional aluminum wheels are in nice condition without any major damage or corrosion but are missing the center caps. Other info: The car is in pretty much original condition with the following items replaced... 12-volt battery, ires, ome hoses, nd radio. Note this car does have an alarm system (not operational any more) and modern radio with external CD player installed. So some wiring may have been cut or spliced in places. One item that I know needs repair is the spring for the brake pedal return. One tail light is burned out. Car comes with one set of factory keys and clear Ohio title.
