The GTO was born out of Pontiac's desire to appeal to the performance minded youth of the late 1960's with a beefed up. monster "Super Tempest". Pontiac Chief Engineer's John DeLorean and Russell Gee created the GTO through a loophole in the General Motors policy limiting engine displacement in GM A body production cars. After many long nights building a Tempest based production performance car in the shadows behind the backs of the GM big-wigs. the Pontiac GTO was born !! 1968 was the FIRST and BEST year of the second generation GTO's and they tell me it's the year to have !! This is the car that dreams are made of !! We just purchased this GTO from the older previous Idaho owner and as you can clearly see in the pictures and video it was his pride and joy for sure !!
