Description of 1965 Pontiac GTO LS3 Swap * ProTouring * NO RESERVE * RestoMod *

I am selling a 1965 Pontiac GTO tribute car that has been built as a modern pro-touring machine. 2016 muscle car performance with 1965 muscle car looks for an amazing combination of old and new. Turn-key, get in and drive anywhere with the reliability of modern day fuel injection and electronic transmission. Very fast, and just importantly stops on a dime, all while looking and sounding like a real muscle car should. From the LS3 to the Dakota Digital Dash, it’s all high quality, modern equipment with over $50,000 in the build that makes this a truly unique car a blast to drive.

The build started a few years ago with a clean 1965 Pontiac LeMans which was then completely stripped and professionally painted Blue Mist Slate. A GTO hood and grills were installed to complete the tribute. Smooth firewall for a clean look under the hood and black vinyl top from OPGI. New bumpers, bezels, trim, drip rails, window moldings, weather stripping, etc… Paint and body are beautiful with minor imperfections from normal use, and the underside is just as clean as the top. The wheels & tires are brand new 18” in the front and 20” in the rear, gray centers with polished lip, for the perfect stance and aggressive look.

The LS engine swap came from a Camaro SS where it was sacrificed for its 6.2 liter LS3 with 425 horsepower and an electronically controlled 4L80E automatic overdrive transmission… and yes, it’s a drive-by-wire throttle setup and the pedal assembly was replaced with a new unit to work with it. The stand-alone ECU & fuse panel that are used to control the modern drive-train are hidden away in the glove box complete with OBDII Diagnostic Plug just like a new car. Dual electric fans, controlled by the ECU just like on a new car. The fuel system was modified to work with the electronic fuel injection system and is good for up to 600hp. Custom stainless steel exhaust system from the headers to the tailpipes, complete with X-pipe. All new suspension from the front to the back including shocks, springs, sway bars, control arms, tie rods, ball joints, polyurethane bushings, etc… Brand new power disc brakes all around (front & rear) including drilled and slotted rotors, all new stainless steel brake lines, master cylinder, power booster, calipers, etc… Steering is controlled by a new close ratio steering box and all the modern day horsepower gets to the wheels via a 10-bolt Posi rear with new 3.23 gears for great fuel economy.

The interior is super clean, simple and also brand new from top to bottom. New bucket seats, rug, headliner, door panels, arm rests, handles, knobs, etc… It has the original style center console with the shifter linkage that was modified to work with the new transmission. Looks original but works like a new car. The cluster is a top of the line Dakota Digital Dash, all working properly with their corresponding sending units on the engine & transmission. All lights, wipers, signals, heat, defrost, etc… work as they should. The only thing I never put in was the air conditioning. I have the compressor and brackets and they will go with the car. It also has a very simple custom stereo that is hidden from sight to keep it clean. A Sony head unit up front with custom kick panels sporting 6” speakers, 6x9’s in the rear deck, and 2 12” Subs hidden behind the rear seat with 2 amplifiers. It sounds good, plays CD’s, Bluetooth audio and telephone connection.

Overall, it’s an amazing addition to any collection with a long list of quality parts and plenty of cash spent. Iconic muscle car looks with modern day speed and reliability makes for the ultimate toy. It is fast and does like to get sideways pretty easily so it’s not something you want to give to your 18 year old. Ready to take to the shows or just drive around town and enjoy like I have been doing.

This is a NO RESERVE auction, meaning that the car will be sold to the highest bidder. Sold as-is. Feel free to contact me with any OFFERS, QUESTIONS, or to COME SEE THE CAR in person.
