Description of 1988 Pontiac Fiero GT |
NO RESERVE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 1988 Pontiac Fiero GT 115,000 miles V-6 2.8L 5 Speed Sunroof Custom "Mr. Mike's" leather seats, new carpet, headliner, door panel coverings... Power window, lock, trunk release, rear defroster. After market Pioneer stereo. All poly suspension.. Just replaced Battery in January. Please read carefully...almost too much to list...... AC DELCO Remanufactured 2.8 engine professionally installed in 2011 by "Fiero Jon" .... Put less than 4,000 miles on it since. Have a couple of herniated disks in my back....Not easiest car to drive so my baby has to go.... :( Easily have over $10,000 - $12,000 invested in the car... Hopefully I won't forget anything.... At the time of the AC Delco remanufactured engine install, the following was done: New plugs, distributor cap, rotor, PCV valve, fuel filter etc... New valve cover, manifold gaskets and injector and distributor o-rings. New Rhino Pak clutch. All new stainless steel vacuum lines. New idler and power pulley system. New water pump New coolant temp sensor ECM and sensor gauge. Intake and valve cover powdered coated. Over the years the following has been done... (Most with probably less than 7,500 - 10, 000 miles use on them...) INTERIOR-------- New carpet, headliner and visors. Installed "Mr. Mike's" custom leather seats. Re upholstered car door panels. Installed Pioneer head unit and pioneer speakers.SUNROOF DOES NOT LEAK. MECHANICAL--------- Replaced headlight motors. Installed new aluminum Champion radiator. Installed new starter. K&N Air cleaner All original suspension rubber bushings replaced with polyurethane Stainless steel brake lines. Coolant x over pipe Replaced EGR valve and added stainless braided EGR tube. Replaced exhaust with stainless steel performance exhaust. Replaced clutch slave cylinder. Replace fuel vapor canister Also had to replace ignition lock. ISSUES------ The paint is shot... I took some pics of the biggest issues. Previous owner had painted it themselves 10 years ago...paint is now peeling, flaking etc... Chipped off around corner of sunroof and there is some "spidering" in spots. No body damage (dents etc...) just bad paint. In it's previous life (before I owned), someone must have placed a jack under the gas tank...It has a dent... DOES NOT LEAK A DROP... Been like that since I've had the car... Gas tank replacement was on my list...just never got to it...(not broke don't fix it) As Fiero owners know, there are all kinds of stories about shops jacking up the cars incorrectly. Didn't have to mention the tank...just being 100% honest. A/C does not work... Not sure if it's leaking or needs some other work... With sunroof, never bothered to get a/c fixed. Cruise control doesn't work... No clue...Never looked at it or was concerned about it. There is a small slit on the console arm rest. Just happened... Sure it could be repaired. Steering wheel could stand to be recovered. Think that's it for issues. Car starts right up, runs strong (obviously with reman engine) and sounds great ...Has nice burble for a 6 cylinder. Handles great with all the poly bushings, real good sound system, lights, horn, gauges, power windows, power locks all work. With a good paint job and a little more work (things listed above), the car could go from a good driver to show time. Just a note ... In New Jersey it's registered as historical...so there is no inspection... so the catalytic converter has been removed..Helps in making it sound great and go a little better! Not sure if it would pass emissions in your state (if necessary) without cataltic converter. Really don't want to see it go, but at this point I'm just not using it. Any questions feel free to ask! |
