Description of 1988 Pontiac Fiero GT |
|
I purchased this last fall with the idea of using it as the base for a kit car build. It is a Non-Sunroof model with a 5 speed which is a perfect platform for a custom build. The interior is great except for a small crack in the dash by the defroster vent. The car is out of California and as far as I know it has zero rust. It had a California title when I bought it. The car is now titled in my name, free and clear of any liens. From what I understand this car had not been driven or started for several years. I flushed out the fuel, replaced the alternator, the heater core, the battery and got it running. However it runs like crap and lacks power. I don't know if there is problem with the fuel injectors or something else. I am told that sometime around 1993 someone attempted to steal the car and damaged the ignition switch. The ignition key appears new, I assume that the ignition switch was changed. Because of the age of the car the insurance company paid the owner and a branded title was issued. This is verified by the Carfax report that shows a total loss was NOT reported. I decided to pursue a different project so I'm not going to use the car. I'm just looking to get my money back out of it. ** The photos show the rear deck lid vents missing. I have the vents and they are in good condition. |
