Description of 1986 Pontiac Fiero GT |
I bought this car from a close friend who was the original owner from 1986. I have put over a decade of work into it and have only driven it about 4k miles. It has been my "therapy" and retreat from the stresses of life. As you can see from the list, the work and parts are extensive. Now it's time to move on and let someone else enjoy it. It has the original Muncie 4spd in it which has done great. I picked up a spare a few years ago, just in case, which comes with the car as well as couple of boxes of spare parts and manuals. "New" below refers to less than 4k miles on the parts except the tires, they are brand new. The new wiring harness and gauge cluster are wired to correct the known Temp gauge issue. If you are not familiar with it, the factory wired every one of them wrong. The idiot light "Test" wire was wired directly to the gauge which would make it "PEG" when the ignition is on but the motor is off. This is corrected and functions properly. This car was in the 2012 Fiero Calendar and has been to a few car shows. All of the panels, except the Fastback section and roof, were taken off, disassembled, and painted separately so it would look like a factory job. It passes emissions and the A/C works which are two must haves. I did not hook the cruise control back up but still have the parts. The trunk lid electronic release works intermittently but the key works fine. The tranny drips oil sometimes, always has even with new axle seals. I didn't want to split the case to replace the input seal. Ask any questions before you bid or buy. Local pickup only - no shipping, no joyrides, yes it's fast. |
