Owner's Manual SELLER REMARKS Real GTO? Check. Matching numbers? Check. Great color combination? Check. If you've been wanting a GTO. this classic Judge tribute delivers in a big way. yet is priced such that you can happily drive and enjoy it without a second thought. And quite honestly. life is pretty darned good from behind the wheel of a vintage GTO. Code 19B is Starlight Black. and it looks simply awesome. It's also this Goat's original color. From the Endura front bumper surrounding the twin Pontiac grilles. to the twin hood scoops. to the ultra-straight flanks. it's stylish and timeless. Quarters. doors. fenders. and the twin-snorkel Ram Air hood are in great condition. which is obvious from the sharp crease that runs down the flanks. The deck lid fits flush. the gaps around the hood and doors are even. and the original nose fits well but shows the usual signs of age that are probably inevitable. Simple GTO badges are right for the image Pontiac was trying to achieve. although the hood tach does send a pretty clear message about performance and those Judge decals aren't exactly subtle. Chrome was still in fashion. and all the bright work on this car. including the rear bumper. stainless rockers. and window surrounds appears to be original stuff in decent shape. The nicely preserved interior is mostly original. including door panels and seat covers. which are holding up remarkably well after four and a half decades. An aftermarket Grant GT steering wheel looks racy and works with the GTO's attitude. and a black dash pad ties it all together neatly. Pontiac used a lot of faux wood in the upmarket GTO. but it actually looks pretty good with the appliques on the dash and center console looking like the same stuff. A wood-handled shifter for the TH400 3-speed automatic underneath is another link to the European inspiration for the GTO. The gauges are mostly original with the usual aftermarket trio underneath. and a modern AM/FM/cassette stereo slots neatly into the original radio's location. There's also factory A/C. a rather welcome find in a GTO. and it's been retrofitted with R134a refrigerant so it's easy to service in the future. In back. the trunk is outfitted with a reproduction mat and spare tire cover. along with a jack assembly underneath. The engine is the original. numbers-matching 400 cubic inch V8 and it's been nicely detailed. Under the open-element air cleaner. there's a factory intake. stock 4-barrel carburetor. and even a brand new alternator and water pump. so you know someone's been keeping this one in top shape. With Pontiac Turquoise paint on the block. it certainly looks authentic and drives extremely well. Chrome valve covers were standard on the GTO. probably because Pontiac knew car guys would be looking around under there. and a recent Flowmaster exhaust system fits and sounds right. offering original quad tips under the rear bumper. The undercarriage is clean and quite original. and while not detailed for show. it does prove that buying a solid car is always a smart choice. Pontiac Rallye II wheels have been fitted with slightly oversized 265/60/14 BFG radials. and they look awesome on the sleek Poncho. With all the talk of investment-grade cars. it's refreshing to see a clean. unmodified GTO that's ready to drive. not collect dust in someone's portfolio.
