Description of 1979 Porsche 930 |
|
I'm selling my 1979 Porsche 930, IN 9309800224. It currently has 146k miles with a clear title and there have been no accidents. My father bought it in Santa Rosa, A in 1987. At this time he immediately sent it to Renn-Tech, SoCal Porsche shop in Signal Hill, A to have the slant nose conversion done, color switch to Alpine white, long with engine and other upgrades. It stayed garaged and well maintained in SoCal until he gave the car to me about 4 years ago. Since then it has mostly sat in my garage in Reno, V as I've only put minimal miles on it to exercise it occasionally, ut I've done a lot of maintenance on it myself. The car is in great condition, owever it needs an engine rebuild. It seemed like it was low on power since my father gave it to me so on a hunch I took it to a local Porsche shop where they performed a leak down test and they found that cylinder one has 60% leak down from the crank case indicating broken rings. The only indication of the problem is a lack of power; there is no smoke from the tailpipe at all and it passed smog before I got classic car smog exempt plates. I was considering doing the rebuild myself but I just don't have the time while raising a family. So I've decided to sell it. Upgrades/Mods:
