Description of 1964 Porsche 356 C |
For Sale- Private Party 1964 356C ID #. 128125 Engine: P * 731145 Transaxle: 746475 I have owned this car for approximately ten years. The COA is provided in the photo section, nd this is a numbers matching car. The color has been changed at some point in the cars life. All indications are the car was restored and well cared for prior to my purchase, s evidenced by paint, hrome details, tc.. I do not have any detailed history beyond that provided to me during my purchase; which was minimal. The car had been in Oregon prior to its move to WA state, stimating that to be in early 2000. The car has seen no rain or wet, uring my ownership and has been garaged, overed, nd exercised regularly. I have done all the regular maintenance; including oil, ilters; valve adjusts, tc. At this writing, here is slight back-fire when decelerating with your foot off of the accelerator pedal. The car has a euro-speedometer (I have listed the mileage at 125,00; however actual mileage is unknown) . I installed 3-point retractable seat belts (into existing mounting points) for safety. The battery has been recently replaced, s well as generator, tarter and voltage regulator. The distributor has been fitted with an electronic ignition (Sam Sipkins). I rebuilt the carburetors with Stoddard kits to include accelerator pumps. I think the interior is original (absent the mouse gray inserts from the COA). The interior is good condition. I had the front seats re-stuffed shortly after my purchase. The shop doing the work indicated the replaced material was probably original. I elected to preserve the seat coverings rather than replace, nd retained the carpets as well. They have been recently cleaned and detailed, nd are in excellent condition. Coca Mats have recently been added for look and feel; photo included; and a rear wool, itted mat has been added to the rear jump seats (photo included). German square weave carpets are under the front mats, hifting tunnel, nd on the backs of the jump seats You will note there have been floor repairs in the past. I am including photos of the interior sheet metal in the floors. I did inspect and detail the interior floor metal, oing some patch work forward of the footwells. The interior floor has had epoxy bed liner applied to the length of the interior floor for look, ound deadening and protection. A period radio will convey with a purchase but I am uncertain of its condition as it has not had power to it during my ownership. All chrome trim is in excellent condition; obviously replaced or re-chromed in the past. The chrome wheels look good but I would rate them as fair-to-good; certainly not show quality. I have done no paint touch-up or body work. The paint does have minor defects, nd a few bubbles which you might expect in a 356 with no paint repairs for some 15-years. I have not been through the car; rather have been using it as example as I put another 356 which I own back together; and for driving occasionally. It probably has imperfections I have not even found! The car needs an enthusiasts' attention. Again, his is not a show car at this time. It is a "driver," and priced accordingly. |
