Description of 1900 Porsche 911 CUP 3.8 RSR Evolution |
Do you have a love for 'factory' built PORSCHE race cars? Are you looking to acquire a turn-key car you can race for the 2016 season? Do you need a 'last of theair cooled'Porsches to fill that 'gap' in your collection? Would you like to learn more about the most highly developed, factory built 993 in existence? Then read on: BTB MotorSports presents: a 'last of the air-cooled', 995 993 based factory built CUP car which was then fully developed up to the 3.8RSR Evolution (EVO) level by Porsche Motorsport North America! What this means: it is the 'ONLY' 1995CUP car that was upgraded by the 'factory' to the 1997 3.8 RSR EVO level! This is a 1 of 1 build by PORSCHE. The original owner purchased this 1995 CUP directly from PORSCHE. Complete and original documentation, nvoicesand correspondence with PORSCHE executive management is included. Please note: PORSCHE only sold 'CUP' cars to those who would participate in their racing series - the CARRERA cup. Yet this carnever competed professionally. It has been driven by only 2 drivers, xclusively in amateur events - one driver being the Porsche Club of America (PCA) chief driving instructor for the Chicago region. The paint (Grand Prix white) is original with no accidents. It was never abused, as and is extremely well maintained. PORSCHE CUP cars are very low production models. In this case, 1995 993RS was pulled from the assembly line to create a CUP car. Approximately (374) 993 based CUP's were built between 1994 and 1998. A significant number have been destroyed or 'used up' in professional racing incidents and competition use. In 1996 the factory continued to improve its CUP cars. The owner of this car was not to be left behind. He contracted with Porsche to bring his car up to the factories planned 1997 developmental level. In 1997 the factory produced only a handful of RSR 'Sprint' type motors for selective use in 1997 cup cars. They are singularly unique power plants. The sprint motoris a 3.8 liter, valve per cylinder, special camshaft, ighly modified engine. It contains mostly 'R' type PORSCHE racing parts, ncluding many that are fabricated by hand and some created out of titanium. The engine is coupled with unique resonance controlled intake runners producing approximately SAE 390HP.Porsche made additional changes for the RSR in 1997 so they were also made to this car (installed by ANDIAL). Theseincluded extensive and complete bodywork and suspension upgrades of OEM Porsche parts as installed on the RSR for 1997. The original owner then added a Teilert Engineering slide valve induction system. Only a handful of these were produced as they were hand crafted by this German Engineering firm. The Motronic ECM was modified by Porsche to accept this induction combination which when installed on this motor produces approximately 410HP (SAE). The engine is routinely run to operating temperature with regular oil changes (Mobil 1 15W-50). The body still wears livery stickers for a German entrant in the 1995 CUP series. Original NOS CUP series livery stickers are also available from us. All competition logbooks since original purchase are included with the vehicle. These include SVRA for vintage racing. This is a turn key race car or could be an historic static display. Easily brought back to concurs condition. Vehicle located in Illinois. I am the second owner. Publicity: A. Streather referenced this car multiple times in his book: 993 - THE Essential Companion. Reproduction of this vehicle would require the assistance of PORSCHE as the parts are no longer being produced and are (NLA) No Longer Available. We do have some spares available. Reproduction cost (if possible) would be in excess of $1,000,000.00 (in USD 2016). Values on the air-cooled cars continue to rise dramatically. VIN WP0ZZZ99ZSS398084 - this is a Porsche 'competition' VIN. EBAY would not accept this VIN or the year of production for some unknown reason. Offers will be considered. Large reduction in recent asking price! Message me through EBAY for apackage with additional pictures and details or if you have other questions. Thank you for your consideration of this collector item. |
