Description of 1974 Porsche 911 CARRERA MFI |
UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY TO ACQUIRE A 1974 Factory Porsche Carrera 2.7 with Mechanically FuelinjectedRS engine # 663XXXX I acquired this incredible and unique 1974 Carrera a couple of years back to add to my little collection of early Porsche cars, and have enjoyed and improved it ever since. This and a couple of other cars are being sold to finance another car, ossibly one of Jerry S's.I have spent a significant amount ofmoney on this car, n top of the originalpurchase cost. This was done to have the car I wanted with disregard to budget. The car came to me already having had a complete professional repaint from the shuts out, ome years ago.It was a windows out high quality paint, sing Glasurit products, rom a very reputable source. All new rubbers seals were installed during the re-paint in it's original and delightful light yellow color of -117.All the jams and shuts are original, nd still retain the undamaged Factory emission control sticker, ngine decals and unmolested paint code tag.The fit and finish and panel gaps are exemplary as youwould expect from a high value quality vehicle. The car is totally accident free, t has all it's original pans and body panels with no rust or repairs of any kind.Unlike many others of this era, his Carrera still retains it's original Factory steel framed duck tail. Now that the paint has gained some patina over the past 10 year, ith very few minor imperfections, t actually now really looks like original paint. This has been was commented on a number of times by various Porsche experts.2 months ago when Itook it to a PCA Concourse, he same comments were made and it won a First in it's class.Trophy included in sale. The engine bears the number 663xxxx suggesting it is from the Third Generation Series of 1973 Carrera RS engines produced, and since this is not the original engine that came with the car, nbsp;it is not a matching numbers car.In 2015 I had the engine rebuilt. All the correct components were retained in the rebuild, heheads were restored and machined for twin plug use. While the engine was apart all the ancillaries were refinished, ower coated, plated and anodized, and the magnesium Factory RS 019 Pump was checked out, leaned and needed no further work.A new clutch unit and new Stainless steel heat exchangers completedthe build. The result is a beautiful and powerful engine, hat is both smooth and tractable.Twin Factory Carrera RS front fender oil coolers were installed to keep the running temperature at 185 degrees. It is a fresh rebuild with less than 500 kms on it.The correct 915 LSD Gearbox was inspected and re-fitted.The suspension and brakes were previously upgraded with larger torsion bars, ose jointed and adjustable sway bars, larger brakes and adjustable rear swing plates. The poly bushings installed do tend to squeak from time to time, nd Iwill probably change those to factory rubber ones, hould I decide to keepthe car.The dated Fuchs wheels were refinished, nodized and repainted, nd show as new. The interior already had the black RSR carpets and door panels. The seat were recovered and tweed inserts give it that periodcorrect look. The overall result of all this labor of love is that of a wonderfully maintained and fully sorted precision Driving Machine, ready to be enjoyed without further expense. My goal of having the ultimately enjoyable and unique 1974 Carrera was achieved. As with all my personal cars, his one is titled & registered in my name as well as insured with Hagerty for a hefty 6 figure sum. Please only bid if you have fully read and understood the listing and looked at the pictures. If the answer to your question is contained my listing I will not respond.I recommended that you contact me to discuss the car in greater detail, nbsp;as well as arrange a pre-purchase inspection.I can help you arrange for this to be done at my LocalPorsche Main Dealer, nbsp;the Autogallery in Woodland Hills.Bid withconfidence, his is a great car. However:Please do not bid unless you have the funds in your checkingaccount,I am not prepared to wait for your money market account to release the funds, ndif you have to borrow money, et a car loan, sk your favorite Aunt for the money, please do not bid.if you have to ask your wife or dog if you are allowed to buy an expensive Porsche, please do not bid.read the payment detailscarefully and if you cannot meet these simple criteria, please do not bid.The auction is final, nd any and all inspections must be carried out BEFORE the Auction ends, OT after. The winning bidder has bought the car, nd does not have an option to buy the car,if you do not understand the difference, again please do not bid. This is an auction and I have no interest in disclosing my reserve,I will however spend the necessary time discussing my car in detail to the right buyer. By all means contact me with specific and relevant questions. Please do not waste my time if you are not serious about buying this car. Finally if you retract a bid for any reason, nbsp;you will be blocked from furtherparticipation. |
