Description of 1958 Porsche 356 356 A 1600S

ONE of the MOST 'ORIGINAL' in the entire WOLRD T-2 356 A FACTORY 'SUPER' 1600 REUTTER COUPES in it's now current MECHANICALLY 100% DRIVE ANYWHERE CONDITION. A REAL BONIFIED and DOCUMENTED 'CALIFORNIA 'BARN-FIND' with an UN-RESTORED ORIGINAL CA from new TYPE BODY condition/Original first factory Silver Metallic paint on the dash and throughout the car is clearly VISABLE as per it's original color noted on the COA (see pic here) The 'S' on the factory metal ID plate is original and un-touched from 58'and matches the COA as a 1600 'SUPER'. This car has TON's of ORIGINAL (never touched stuff) and is a REAL ASSET to any 356 data base and being a DRY CALIFORNIA CAR from NEW with documentation and photos from 64 onward puts it in the highest class of un-restored 356 closed 58-59 production A model cars. This car is thoroughly documented in almost a dozen 1960's Black & White photo's from the second local CA owner and has fully documented hand written logbooks (3) in all with the original pencil used. The documentation shows original receipts from 1964' with a clear history of mechanical receipts and tons of OLD CA registrations etc etc. Note: Engine installed in 1965 data. This car has an 'original' (not a copy) 1965 Bill of Sale from Vasek Polak dated and signed w/documented info to this cars CA license plate and factory ID and mileage etc etc late 1959 engine # 600-784 sold by Polak for $666. dollars & $22. dollars to install it..in 1965'. THIS car currently DRIVES 'like it would have in 1958 with it's awesome ZF rack and Matching ZF gearbox; the car turns and rides and shifts almost 'like new'. Less than approx. 5,000 miles on exceptional bored out beyond 1600 spec's match #'s everywhere on that 59' engine. with the 'S' type fan shroud painted in a correct Lite Silver for 'Super' optioned cars. Car has it's original Red leatherette Headrests (as per COA) /Orig Ponto Stabil drivers side exterior mirror (on COA)/Orig Balupunkt FM radio and twin speakers and original Hirshman antenna/Orig Tan rubber mats etc etc All 5 wheels are dated 02/58' and matching (not re-stamped) and have been de-chromed and have been recently powder coated in a lite Silver color with new tires and tubes and valve stem stays. Original first factory dust on top of the orig undercoating floor pan complete/Original battery box complete/95% of the Original tar paper from 1958 is and has never been reomoved throughout the car since 58'/Most of the interior is original to the car/front seats were recovered over the 'orig' horsehair in the late 70's/ headliner has never been touched and is orig 58' as per all the IVORY KNOBS and door handles and chrome bits and the rear deck lid badge etc.The theory is that the car was on the showroom floor in 58 in Metallic s Silver in Newport Beach and didn't sell and a customer supposedly came in and said 'if you paint the car a darker silver and put a Blaupunkt radio in it I'll buy it. That's why there is no primer under the Dark Silver Grey on top of the original first factory paint under there because the dealer just scuffed it and re-sprayed the whole car in the darker color. Why the 59 USA overiders (the dealer probably put those on in 59) Go figure; they have been on there since new as far as I can tell and the front an rear receptor holes are original punchings 65% original tools are there and tool roll/Original factory 58 jack/Original match #'s door; deck lid; hood; trunk floor stamping; fuel tank; sender unit; coil; generator etc etc /Original metal ID plate beside the fuel tank on the RHS with the 'S" on there has never been removed since 1958 and is in mint cond w/the orig rivets in there.I have 300 photos of this car and the car is worth every cent. you cannot simply ever find this type of car with this type of bonified in receipts and photographs from the mid 60's with documented history of this nature in today's market. If I typed all the original stuff on this car I would go off the page; there is far too much to list here .YOU CAN CONTACT ME DIRECTLY VIA MAIL: dino.goetz@ymail.com
