Description of 1953 Porsche RUNGE 356 550 Carrera Spyder |
This advertisement is for the commission of a handcrafted RUNGE Porsche Special. In 2011 I built my first aluminum bodied car from the ground up for my own personal use. My creation sparked the interest of other enthusiasts and I have since built several cars for discerning clients around the world. I build each car from chassis to hand formed aluminum body, leather wrappings completely bespoke to client demands. I put great attention to every detail and relentlessly pursue producing a one-off, reliable work of art with respect and honor to the craftsman of days gone by. The cars are built by hand utilizing traditional coachbuilding methods without the aid of computer or digital assistance. Chassis FF005 (shown below) was driven 1500 miles non-stop upon completion through heat, rain and temps dipping below 25F testing all systems. It has now covered 3000 miles in the past 7 months running a our Tom Bruch built Porsche 356 engine and 356 period components. I have gone to great lengths to develop the entire mechanical package while retaining a period look and feel. Base build commissions start at 1700 hours (8 months). My shop team includes a factory trained Porsche technician and we have the ability to produce anything from custom race prepped vehicles to road going touring cars. I have many different combinations of body designs, engine, brake and transaxle packages available covering everything from period and era specific to more modern exotic packages. Runge cars have been featured globally through print, television and web media including FF004 (shown below) receiving Jalopnik's "Best Drives of 2016".
