Description of 1979 Porsche 911 SC Coupe |
I am making the difficult decision to sell my 1979 SC. This is the most reliable, drivable, original 911 I have ever owned, and it will make a new owner extremely happy. I have spent the past year and a half making this car perfect, but my family circumstances are changing, so I must let go of some toys. I also own two other 911's, and the wife says three is too many! I purchased this car about 18 months ago with the intent of making it a bone stock, bullet proof driver. Last summer, the car had thousands of dollars in maintenance performed, and I have only put about 3,000 miles on it since. This car pulls hard, shifts, and idles like it should. It does not leak and has not burned an ounce of oil in those 3,000 miles. The head studs were checked and are in good shape as well - this car is ready to rock. The work was done by Bob Farmer in Indianapolis; one of the best names in the business: - New Clutch - Performed valve timing and installed silicone valve cover gaskets - New throttle bushings, oil pressure switch, and thermostat o-ring - New spark plugs, wires, cap, and rotor - New rebuilt front brake calipers from PMB Performance - New Hawk HPS Brake Pads on all four wheels - Four new ultra-high performance all-season tires - New air and fuel filters (fuel tank checked and is extremely clean) I also have a binder full of receipts from previous owners dating back to the early 1980's. This car appears to have been well cared for its entire life. In addition to history, the car also has all of the right equipment and upgrades: - Turbo whale tail and front spoiler are OEM parts and appear to be original to this car- H4 headlights- Original 6&7 x 16" Fuchs- Carrera chain tensioners- Turbo valve covers.. The body and paint of this car look great. I purchased the car from Georgia, and there are no signs of rust anywhere on the car. Since bringing it North, I have kept it garaged and have not driven it in the snow (or salt). The paint on the car is not perfect. It looks like the car was resprayed at some point and while it looks very nice, it does not appear to be a top notch paint job. There are also a few very small dings/scratches and some rock chips on the front spoiler. The interior is in very nice original condition. As you can see, the dash is completely crack free, and is not warped. The seats, steering wheel, door pockets, and all other interior bits are in very nice condition. The seats show some where, as you would expect, but have a nice patina without looking worn (for me, I prefer this over newly covered seats in a 40 year old interior). Please take a close look at the photos, and let me know if you have any questions. The car is available for in person inspection at my home, where I have a lift to assist with anything you would like to take a look at. I am open to pre-purchase inspections at local shops with a deposit and contingent agreement in hand. Location: Indianapolis, IN (46202) Trades? I prefer cash, but would be open to some partial trades. I am selling the car in order to purchase a new vehicle for my wife. We are looking for something German, small and fuel efficient, less than 10 years old, less than 75k miles, and with an automatic transmission. i.e. Mini Cooper or Cooper S, BMW 3 Series, Mercedes C Class 40 High Resolution Photos:https://www.flickr.com/photos/157616997@N06/? |
