Description of 1966 Porsche 912 |
*1966* Porsche 912. All original; miles are thought to be accurate. Only thing not original are the custom fender flares. I have not even cleaned the dust off. If I do. it will clean good. The headliner. seats & surrounds are fixable (just mostly need "cleaning". The dash is perfect with no cracks. The face aluminum panels on dash front are off. but I have them (might be a picture added here or available. Some dings & paint flaws. but 97% rust FREE! NO holes in floors or rockers. See trunk also(look past the dirt :)). Clean smooth rust free roof. The motor is thought to be original & rebuilt. but not running due to storage while the previous owner was in process to start. but now has relocation due to job (see new heads & valve tubes for NEW parts view). The four carbs probably need rebuilds ( I see kits are on Ebay at reasonable cost). Motor turns freely ( i just put in new oil & may remove plugs for oil squirts). BOTH number plates are in original places. Has jack & various parts. Old 912 repair manual also. Pleas don't bother me with "the flares are not original" to drive cost down. Its a toss up: rust free or flare concern. I'll take the rust free. original. VIN plates in place; clear title (will be in my name-Florida); motor has best chance of a recent rebuild. etcetera. 97% rust FREE! NO kidding! The motor number is number is1284663. My price expectations will be different then. I think the biggest hurdle would be the carburetors functioning. I am fairly good at rebuilding carbs & kits are about $140 for all 4 kits (gas would be can fed to test). I know the clutch is working as far as. when in any gear it holds. against engine compression. With the fender flares in place. would make a great concours racer. No trades; as is sale. On Jan-30-15 at 11:25:56 PST. seller added the following information:Any of the 60's era Porsche 912's I've seen on Ebay. or elsewhere. have some bad rust issues. Especially in floors/rockers. Thata why they look cheaper price. but depends where your skill levels are & what you prefer dealing with. On Feb-03-15 at 14:45:45 PST. seller added the following information:The fender flares are METAL per magnet test. |
