Description of 1975 Porsche 914

General Overall Condition and Information:

This car is in great shape for its age and is a pleasure to drive. The engine is strong, starts easily and doesn't burn any oil. The transmission is solid and shifts well. All of the electronics work correctly. I am the third owner. The car has had over $8,000 in upgrades added in the past three years as highlighted below. The car is stored in climatecontrolled warehouse when not in use.

Body & Paint:

Overall the body is good shape, with no visible signs of rust, and that includes the battery box area which is typical rust point on these cars.I pulled the rocker panels off and there is no rust behind them. Both front and rear boots are in great shape with no rust. The paint on the other hand is not the best. The guy I bought the car from said he had an inexpensive paint job performed and honestly, it's shows. It's shiny but on close inspection the body work is crap and the drivers door is not Nepal orange. The previous owner damaged it while it was stored in his shop and the auto body shop he took it to did a lousy job matching the paint - at least, that's what he told me.It looks like signal orange vs Nepal orange, so perhaps he used the wrong color code.At any rate, I removed the rocker panels to inspect the car for signs of a wreck but there was no damage to the chassis.

Engine & Transmission: This 914 has a stock 4 cylinder 1.8L engine
. It is equipped with a stock 5 speed manual transmission that shifts very smoothly.
Interior:All original black interior with no cracks in the seats or the dash. The car does not include the original radio but has an aftermarket radio installed. The original speakers are contained in their factory boxes and there are aftermarket speakers installed in the door panels.I installed a restored 380mm custom padded leather steering wheel that is really nice compared to the original (included).

Upgrades:

Boxter Calipers front/rear

Zimmerman cross drilled rotors front/rear

Hubs w/new bearings, races and seals

Bilstein front struts

New mintex semi-metalic brake pads front/rear

911 5x130 hubs rear

914-6 Stub axles

911 rear eBrake, shoes and line kit

Bilstein HD rear shocks

125lb rear adjustable coilover kit (barrel springs)

Wheels: 6x15 fuchs (does not include a 5 lug spare)

Tires: Yokohama 205/55R15

Electrical: Everything appears to work as it should.
Glass: Original and in good condition.

Summary:This is a great car for someone looking for a nice driver with some cool upgrades. I had planned on doing a ground up restoration and back dating the bumpers to look like an early 70's car but have since moved on to other projects. The planned restoration is why I wasn't overly concerned about the paint issues when I purchased the car. I was more concerned about finding a good example without rust that would serve as strong starting point, and this was a great car for that effort.

Thanks for looking.
