GR Auto Gallery is pleased to present this 1974 Porsche 914 Targa for purchase. The perfect balance and plenty of fun factor is how these 914 2.0L's were advertised by Porsche and is still true today with these fun little two seaters. The 914 offered 3 variations with the 4 cylinder, the 1.7 and 1.8 were inexpensive enough to attract the budget buyer, but the person that wanted to save money but still have a fun car to drive in... all gears optioned for the 2.0L that had more low-end power and more total horsepower. The 1975 Porsche 914 2.0 liter offered here was purchased new on October 3 1975 at Carmichael Porsche Audi of Knoxville TN. The owner was a physician were the car was always garaged, routinely serviced and used as a second "fun" car. It was enjoyed for the next 44 years by the original owner, until our recent acquisition. The original interior features an excellent dash with no cracking, GT style steering wheel, factory leather shift knob, and original gauges. The door upholstery and door pockets remain excellent, the original carpet show some expected wear but very acceptable and the original bucket seats overall are very nice especially on the inserts . The seats do show some small tears on each of the outer bolsters. The car retains its original sheet metal through out and shows no signs of any bodywork. The exterior was professionally re-sprayed approximately 10 years ago in its original factory color, Nepal Orange. The door jams, engine area, front bonnet area and rear trunk area all still retain the original factory paint and show excellent. The black side pillars, aluminum trim, exterior rubber trim are all excellent. The bottom of the car remains untouched, original and dry. It shows excellent in all areas and leaves nothing to the imagination. The car is powered by its desirable 2.0 liter center mounted fuel injected engine, 5 speed manual transmission and rear wheel drive. The car pulls strong in every gear, and shifts proper. The suspension and steering are tight and responsive give great feedback to the driver. Recent services include: New tie rod assemblies, steering rack boots, brake system service, rebuild calipers, clean fuel injectors, front wheel bearings, replace fuel tank, fuel lines, fuel pump, new front struts, new shocks, valve adjustment, clean and service the throttle body.
