Description of 1985 Porsche 911 |
|
This 1985 Porsche coupe was acquired in 2012 with the intention of doing a no-expense-spared complete custom rebuild. The car was rust-free due to being in New Mexico and Arizona since it left the Stuttgart factory in 1984. The car was completely stripped for installation of a one-off custom wide-body kit. Fender flares, rocker panels, both front and rear bumpers, and a duck-tail spoiler were added. The shop that completed the bodywork/install is responsible for some of the best restorations seen throughout the country and only builds one to two cars a year. Most of their restorations are sold at concours auctions over 500k. The shop located in AZ is not open to the public. They only build cars for a small select group of collectors. Once shaped, the car was painted to a Concours level finish of Alpine White (Glasurit). A late model 993 Vario Ram 3.6L engine certified with 24,860 miles at removal was sourced from LA Dismantlers and shipped to Don Jackson Enterprises, a well known Porsche shop in Phoenix, AZ. A new 915 transmission was married to the engine with an upgraded 930 transaxle by Turbo Kraft. A custom exhaust and headers were fabricated which includes a switchable on/off muffler bypass valve that is controlled by a push-button switch on the dash. A new suspension was installed with new custom wheels and new tires. Forward lighting is completely custom using bi-xenon projectors and handmade clear polycarbonate lenses. The interior is completely covered in Alcantara Suede. The steering wheel is a 3 point Momo wrapped in suede. Shifting the 915 gears is done with an aluminum Wevo short shifter and aluminum pedal plates match the door pulls. New carpet and a rear half roll cage were installed with Sparco harnesses. The gauges were rebuilt by north hollywood speed and tach using LED outer rings and LED door lights were installed. Not one piece of hardware is old, just over 3,000 miles have been added since the build was completed in 2016 To see more pictures and video 911limited.com Please text or call with any questions 602-903-4747
