Description of 1984 Porsche 928

This 1984 Porsche 928S is powered by a 4.7-liter V8 paired with a five-speed manual transaxle, and it is finished in "Guards Red" with black leather interior. Equipment includes 16” chrome Porsche wheels sporting Kumho tires, pop-up headlights with headlight washers, integrated fog lights, integrated body-colored mirror caps and sunroof. Rear hatch window has wipers and defrost and rear spoiler in black. There are dual exhaust tips extruding the rear. Close-up photographs of the exterior finish and trim are shown.

The cabin features black leather seating. The drivers seat was recovered in 2016 and passenger seat is original. Interior amenities include air conditioning, cruise control, and power windows. The air conditioning doesn’t blow cold air presently. The car is fitted with the original Blaupunkt AM/FM cassette radio and power antennae. Also included is the original owners manual as well as complete set of Porsche service manuals. This is a six binder set for all maintenance and service that was included with purchase of car.

The leather-wrapped steering wheel frames VDO instrumentation including a 170-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 6,000-rpm redline as well as gauges for oil pressure, coolant temperature, voltage, and fuel level. The six-digit odometer shows just over 100k miles and is believed to be correct. The dash has a plastic cover to hide cracks and leather that is pulling away from defrost vents. I have photos of original dash without dash cover that I can send to interested persons.

Car has been owned by present owner since 2013 and has a clean Nebraska title. Last service and maintenance was performed in 2016 by Ed Cordels European Auto in Elkhorn NE.Due to life circumstances the car was placed into storage shortly after service, but was started a couple of times yearly. Though the car starts and runs well now, other small items need to be addressed from sitting. These include A/C not blowing cold. Some lights do not work…could be just a bulb or fuse. Rear hatch release only works with key…the electric release sounds like its trying, but the hatch doesn’t pop.

The 4.7-liter V8 features L-Jetronic fuel injection and was factory rated at 234 horsepower and 263 lb-ft of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a rear-mounted five-speed manual transaxle. Additional photographs of the underside are available on request.
