Description of 1964 Studebaker GT

HI I AM SELLING MY 1964 STUDEBAKER HAWK GT. THIS IS A RARE FACTORY AIR-CONDITIONED CAR. THIS CAR IS ALSO A LOW MILAGE CAR WITH 62,000 MILES ON IT. THIS CAR HAS HAD A COMPLETE RESTORATION 3 YEARS AGO. LET ME START OFF BY SAYING THIS CAR IS EXCEPTIONAL IN EVERYWAY. IF YOU HAVE ANY RESERVATIONS, PLEASE COME AND SEE THE CAR OR SEND AN INSPECTOR. IT RETAINS ITS ORIGINAL 289CI V8 STUDEBAKER ENGINE AND ITS ORIGINAL AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. THE ENGINE HAD A COMPLETE OVERHAUL 3 YEARS AGO AS WELL. IT DOES NOT HAVE ANY OF THE USUAL LIFTER NOISE MOST OF THEM HAVE. IT STARS RIGHT UP EVERYTIME WITH ONE PUMP OF THE GAS. THERE IS NO SMOKE COMING OUT OF THE EXHAUST EITHER. THERE ARE NO FUNNY NOISES. THE TRANSMISSION: I BELIEVE TO NOT HAVE BEEN REBUILT, BUT I HAVE NOT HAD ANY ISSUES WITH IT. IT GOES INTO GEAR WITH EASE AND SHIFTS GREAT. AT THAT TIME ALL THE HOSES WERE REPLACED. THE GAS LINES AND FUEL PUMP WERE ALSO REPLACED. 2 YEARS AGO, THE BRAKE LINES, WHEEL CYLINDERS AND BRAKE SHOES WERE REPLACED. THIS CAR WAS ORDERED WITH THE TWIN TRACTION OPTION. AT THE TIME OF THE RESTORATION THE AIR CONDITIONING WAS CONVERTED TO 134A AND THE SYSTEM WAS GONE OVER. NEEDLESS TO SAY, THE AIR IS ICE COLD. THE HEAT WORKS AS WELL. THIS CAR RETAINS IT'S ORIGINAL 2 BARREL CARBURETOR AND ITS ORIGINAL AIR CLEANER.
THE EXTERIOR WAS REDONE BY A PROFESSIONAL SHOP. THIS CAR WAS NOT A RUST BUCKET TO BEGIN WITH. AS YOU CAN SEE BY THE VIDEO AND THE PICTURES, IT WAS DONE TO A VERY HIGH STANDARD. IT WAS DONE IN 2 STAGE PAINT AND THERE IS ALOT OF CLEAR ON THE CAR. THE PAINT IS EXCELLENT AS ITS DEEP AND RICH. IT ACTUALLY STILL LOOKS WET. THERE WAS MINIMAL FILLER USED. THE PANELS ARE RAZOR STRAIGHT AND ALL THE PANELS FIT PERFET. WHEN YOU LOOK DOWN THE SIDES THERE ARE NO WAVES. THERE IS OBVIOUSLY NO RUST ON THIS CAR. AND I MEAN NOT A DROP. AT THE TIME THE EXTERIOR WAS REDONE ALL THE RUBBER WAS REPACED AS WELL. ALL THE GLASS IS ORIGINAL AND IN EXCELLENT SHAPE. THERE ARE NO CRACKS OR CHIPS. THE FRONT WINDOWS WERE CONVERTED TO POWER WINDOWS. THEY BOTH WORK BUT THE DRIVER SWITCH IS NOT WORKING FOR THE PASSENGER WINDOW. IT DOES OPERATE FROM THE PASSENGER SIDE. I WOULD GUESS ITS A BAD SWITCH. THE REAR WINDOWS ARE STILL MANUAL AND THEY GO UP AND DOWN WITH EASE.
ALL THE CHROME AND STAINLESS ARE IN EXCELLENT CONDITION. MOST OF IT WAS EITHER REPLACED OR RECHROMED.THE FRONT AND REAT BUMPERS WERE RECHROMED RECENTLY BY PHILADELPHIA PLATING AND LOOK NEW. THERE IS ALOT OF CHROME AND STAINLESS ON THIS CAR AND I CAN'T EMPHASIZE HOW NICE IT IS. WITH THE EXCEPTION OF A COUPLE DINGS IN THE REAR WHEEL WELL MOLDINGS ITS ALMOST PERFECT.
THE TRUNK IS LINED WITH AN OEM MATT AND THE ORIGINAL SPARE. AS YOU CAN SEE BY THE PICTURES THERE IS NOT A DROP OF RUST IN THE TRUNK, TRUNK LID OR THE DRIP RAILS. ITS REALLY NICE.
THE INTERIOR IS NOTHING SHORT OF AMAZING. THE ENTIRE INTERIOR HAS BEEN REDONE AND REDONE TO GREAT LENGTHS. THE SEATS WERE RECOVERED IN NOS MATERIAL AND THERE IS NOT A DROP OF WEAR. THE CENTER CONSOLE IS REDONE TO MATCH AND LOOKS PERFECT. THE DOOR PANELS WERE ALL REDONE NOS MATERIALS AND MATCH PERFECT. THE KICK PANELS WERE REDONE AND LOOK GREAT. THERE ARE NO SPLITS IN THE DASH PAD AND I BELIEVE IT'S BEEN REPLACED BUT NOT SURE. THE ACTUAL DASK AND GAGES SHOW NO WEAR. MOST OF THESE CARS HAVE SOME PITTING AROUND THE GAGES AND THIS ONE HAS NONE. THE WOOD GRAIN SHOWS NO WEAR AT ALL. ANYONE WHO IS FAMILIAR WITH THESE CARS KNOWS THERE IS TONS OF STAINLESS IN THE INTERIOR. EVERYTHING IS THERE AND ITS ALL IN EXCELLENT CONDITION AS WELL. AS WAS THE EXTERIOR, ALL THE PIECES WERE REMOVED AND HAND POLISHED OR REPLACED AS WELL. ALL THE LITES AND GAGES WORK AS THEY SHOULD. THE FACTORY RADIO DOES NOT WORK, BUT THERE IS AN AFTERMARKET RADIO HIDDEN UNDER THE DRIVER SEAT. ALL THE SPEAKERS ARE PROFESSIONLY INSTALLED AND YOU HARDLEY SEE THEM. THE HEADLINER WAS REPLACED WITH NOS MATERIAL AND LOOKS NEW.
NOW FOR THE IMPORTANT PART. I HAVE INCLUDED PICTURES OF THE UNDERCARRIAGE TO SHOW THAT THE CAR IS 100% RUST FREE. ALL THE ROCKERS, WHEEL WELLS, FLOORS (FRONT AND BACK) AND FRAME RAILS ARE EXCELLENT. NOW THE REALLY REALLY IMPORTANT PART, THE HOG THROUGS ARE PERFECT!!!!
