1985 4Runner 4WD- First Generation Straight Axel

Super hard to find in this condition. The 1985 is the holy grail of 4 runners.One year only combination of thestraight front axel suspensionand the throttle body fuelinjection. This one is in really great unmolested condition. I was planning on giving it to my daughter as her first car, ut am rethinkingthat one. Maunual transmission and 4 wheel drive may not be the best match for a teenaged girl. My good friend bought it from the original owner in 1989 or so and he put nearlyall of the miles on it over the years.Never used as an off road rig or abused in any way.It has spent its entire life here in northern California (dry climate/no salted roads) Almost any 4runner of this vintage will have corrosion issues NOT this one! The only real rust found are two small spots under the side rails of the removable top near the tailgate. See the last picture with a dime for reference.The top seal must trap moisture in those spots as they are a matching set...one on each side.They were treated and painted when the top was last removed. They are not visable when the roof is installed. Other than that some surface rust on the undercarriage is all you will find. The interior plastic is still in very good condition and all accounted for. Even the headliner looks super clean and original. The front seatswere replaced witha reallyclean set of bucket seats out of a newer Toyota. They are grey, ot brown butvery comfortable.It passed California smog testing a month ago and runs well.The engine has been rebuilt at leastonce in the past, nd the transmission is low milage (6000 or so), ut I don't have paperworkfor any ofit. There is a small crack in the fiberglass top which has been there for the 25years I have known this truck. It does not leak through..(see picture)Theair conditioning was working well until about 2 weeks ago. I think it needs a compressor.This is not a show car, ust a really nice clean 30 year old truck from a dry climate. Treated well I expectitwill run a million miles.
