Description of 1973 Toyota Celica ST |
Up for Auction is one extremely rare and vintage 1973 Toyota Celica ST in amazing unmolested condition. The car was held by the original owner who ordered it until her recent passing this year. It was sold by the estate and is now in my possession with all supporting paperwork documenting it only has 40. 97 miles (I am driving it on rare occasions so it will change a little bit) and a clear signed title. The most amazing thing about this car besides the historic condition is that it also comes with the following documentation supporting its noted history from the date of order by the original buyer through Toyota to include the service records up to the current date today with the mileage noted on them throughout the history. It also comes with all of the original equipment such as 8 track player and cartridge holder along with the original warranty paperwork for the stereo. nbsp; vintage after market Ice scraper and dust cloth from that era. The Factory Tool kit will not be sold with this car but can be negotiated if needed. The car will come with the following paperwork -All of the service records mentioned. the Original Valvoline warranty. the Toyota TEN stereo unused stickers. nbsp;fuses manual and all warranty documents. The original bill of sale including the original order form from Toyota in 1973. The 1973 Toyota Service slips in the original booklet. The original car 1973 Toyota dealer issued service book for the Celica model (It has the cars Vin # and owners name in it). The original title issued with the car and the death certificate from the state for the original owner. The car has the originally ordered upgraded wheels with brand new tires purchased this year. At some point it had a now vintage theft alarm put in and all of that options paper work is included. It was at some point in its history towed behind a vehicle somewhere so it has an electrical plug for the lights to be activated during tow in the lower front valance somewhat hidden from view. It also has the wiring for the rear lights tapped into for this towing harness and appears very easy to remove back to the original state. Here is what the documentation states for History that will be provided with the car-This Celica was ordered by Carolyn Fitzwater at Irv Leopold Toyota in Milwaukie Oregon on 7-10-73 for $2687. 95 when the car was ordered she requested the following options bringing the cars total price to $3324. 95. Air conditioning – cost $325 8 track tape deck – cost $90 Vinyl Top color matched to the car - $60 Cragar coke bottle type mag wheels – cost $230 On 9-10-1973 at 1. 94 miles the car had its 1. 00 mile service at Irv Toyota with notes from them about fixing the following - a clock issue and a few other notes about a rattling noise and miss in the motor. On 10-13-1973 she purchased a Valvoline Dealer New Car 50. 00 Mile/5 year Motor Oil and Lubrication Guaranty Certificate #230316. This Certificate is still with the cars documentation. On 10-30-1973 she has a receipt for purchasing winter studded tires for a total cost of $89. 50 mounted. On 12-5-1973 at 3. 96 miles the car was brought in to Irv Toyota for the 3. 00 mile service and had the wipers. Emergency Brake and Carb adjusted along with the timing set. On 4-21-1976 the car was brought in to Irv for its 33. 00 mile service. On 11-28-1994 the car is taken to a Toyota Specialist with notes on removing and inspecting the Transmission. Flywheel and replacing the clutch. The receipt states 36. 76 miles. I assume this service was done from the car sitting so long. On 3-18-98 the car is brought to Jiffy Lube by the original owner to get an oil change. The receipt documents the mileage at only 38. 08. On 6-20-2002 the car is brought to a service shop specializing in Toyotas to get an oil change. The receipt documents the mileage at 40. 83 miles. On 7-19-2002 the car is brought back to the service shop specializing in Toyotas to get all new belts and hoses and a new master cylinder at a cost of $630. 18. On 3-23-2011 a new battery is purchased for the car with a 60 month warranty. On 5-3-2014 the original owner Carolyn Fitzwater passes away at the age of 78 years old with the Celica still in her possession. On 11-3-2014 the persons in charge of Carolyn’s estate take the car to have it checked out to get it road worthy. The notes on the receipt document the mileage at 40. 81. The notes say that the car wont idle runs rough and that the customer wants it to be safe so it can be sold. The cost for the tires is noted as $370. 76 and they come with a 70K mile warranty. On 11-9-2014 the car is sold from the estate. On 11-12-2014 I purchased the car from the person who bought it at the estate. Only one owner has maintained this car since new. I have gone over the car since I purchased it and will list in detail as many areas of concern that I have seen. The car has been in Dry storage for the majority of its existence. Exterior- Overall very few minor dings. rock chips and blemishes on the exterior due to its 41 years of age. There is in the passenger side door and 1 reverse ding on the trunk lip below the emblem. The passenger side script Celica emblem is broken and a replacement will be provided. The paint is shiny and glossy and beads water well and would even be better with a good cut and buff be a detailer. The Vinyl top also repels water and has no issues. tears or damage areas. The weather seal gaskets around the front and rear windows do not leak and some weather seal was added to the surrounding edges to ensure they do not they should all be looked at and considered for replacement due to the cars age. I have access to all new sets if needed but are not part of this auction. Interior- 1 wear spot on the drivers side seat where a repair is needed. KEY WORDS -- Drift. Skyline. 240Z. 260Z. 280Z.
