Description of 1973 Toyota Celica |
For sale is my1973 Toyota Celica ST (RA21 chassis). It has the 2.0 liter 18RC, and a 4 speed manual transmission. It is a very solid car with no rust and except for the one crease in the hood (passenger side), there does not appear to be anybody damage. It has the desirable 14x7 Celica/Supra wheels. It has all the glass and all the chrome trim. The interior, especially the seats and dash pad, are in rough shape though. However, it is all there and all original. I bought it a few months back, as it had been sitting since 1999, and I recently got it running again. It does drive, but the front suspension needs to be rebuilt (the parts come with the car, read below). And even though I rebuilt the carburetor, it idles high (~2000rpm), and I can't seem to tune it right. I would recommend replacing it with a Weber 32/36 if you are going to keep the engine (although a Beams blacktop swap would be fun). I drove it and the gearbox and clutch feel great, and the diff doesn't make noise that I could hear. And all of the rebuilt brake components work good. The lights and switches seem to work OK too. It came with A/C, but the previous owner removed the compressor unit, which does also come with the car. I didn't buy this car to make money, I bought it because it was just sitting in a lot, and I didn't want to see such a solid cool collectible old car get lost or crushed. The recent additions to get the car safe and running again are:
