Description of 1977 Toyota Other |
1977 toyota 5 speed truck. Runs good with just under 100k. This is an old truck and does need some minor body work such as minor rust repair on drivers door and under door trim. floorpans are solid. no real rust issues to speak of other than minor surface stuff as this truck has pretty much spent its life out west. there are some spots of paint(best seen on back camper glass). which occurred while unloading some trash . a can of spray paint got punctured and rather than get painted . I chose to let the can roll around painting as it went. I was working that day and knew I would not be home to shower for a while. . so the glass is not damaged. just needs some paint thinner or remover to clean that off. The pics I show will describe in much better detail all that it needs body wise. Interior is OK for a truck this vintage. bench seat is pretty much shot. and dash does have a crack here and there. weather strip on windows could be replaced as with most trucks this many years old . Other than that it is a pretty decent truck. I have owned it since since 08 and have just mainly used it to take trips to the dump and haul landscape materials. only mechanical issue it has is every once in a while the carburetor acts up. but it has never left me stranded. Electrical has never given me any trouble. lights wipers heat all work. exhaust is OK with a few minor leaks throughout . but it is not really that loud. If you are a toyota person you are probably aware most of the manifolds crack. I believe this one is still ok. however it was always my plan to put a header and weber carb on it. Never got around to it. Brakes are good. alignment is decent. rolls down the road straight with very limited play in wheel. I also have a tailgate that goes with this truck. not bolted up due to the camper top. Its in pretty decent shape for what it is. Use it like I have just to beat around. or restore for something special. these trucks are getting pretty rare these days. I will not ship it. If you bid on it plan on a trip out west near Portland. regon to pick it up. I would not be afraid to drive it several miles from home. Good luck and Happy bidding! |
