Description of 1985 Toyota Other Turbo Diesel Pickup 4x4

1985 Toyota 4x4 Pickup with original factory 2L-T turbo diesel motor, speed manual tranny US model. This pickup is almost entirely original. The only thing I know of not factory are the front and rear bumpers. The bumpers on it arecustomtubular steel ones. They were made well and still look nice on the vehicle. Gets 28-32mpg without the camper on it with the camper on it gets 25+mpg. 25mpg is the lowest fuel economy I have had in this rig. This vehicle was made from the factory with this motor it is not a swapped in motor.. . Has the last year offered for the front solid axle. It is also a longbed.
Check out the Top Gear episode where they try to destroy one of these pickups. It is called The Indestructible Truck and it is broken into 2 parts here is a link to a quick little video.
History
. I have the original purchase documents for the vehicle. It was bought in Central Oregon from the toyota dealer back in 1985. It was an original owner vehicle up until 6 years ago. The truck only has 114,758 miles on the chassis. The motor lost a valve seat at 89,500 miles and I had the motor rebuilt professionally by a machine shop and put a aftermarket thicker cast head on it. I have all receipts for the parts and the rebuild on the engine. The motor has 25,000 miles on it since being rebuilt and runs very strong. Has been garaged its entire life up until 3 years ago. Has BFG All Terrain tires.
. . Body
. . The body is very clean has a few small dents on it. The paint is not fading at all and is the original paint job. There are a few silver dollar size chips in the paint on the tailgate that have surface rust on them.. . The bumpers are aftermarket. They are a lot more heavy duty but at the same time whoever made them did a good job at making them simple and fitting them on the truck. I also have the original skirt that mounts below the front bumper. It still mounts onto the truck.. . The engine has a circulating heater on it. For use when it is really cold out. . . Has a dual battery 12V setup.
The interior is very clean. Dash has no cracks. Bench seat has a tear in the driver side. Have all the original toyota tools, ool bag, ack and accessories. Has the original rubber floor with no tears or holes. The only thing not working perfectly would be the fuel gauge it shows half a tank when it is full. Besides that everything works on the truck. Has the original stereo so its a little outdated and the speakers are not the best. Thought I would leave that up to the buyer to choose how they would like to upgrade that.
Has a wildernest camper on it. Look these campers up if you don't know what they are. They don't make them anymore. They are hard to find and not very cheap if they have all the parts and are in good shape. It is an awesome camping rig. The canopy is in great shape no tears. Has some discoloration in places but not ripped and has all the hardware and pieces to go with it. The bed portion of the canopy is also in great shape.
Reason for selling is that the family is just to big to fit in the cab now. I used to use it for road trips and camping but cant fit us all in it now.. . This truck runs and handles great around town and on the highway. It really does drive great on the highway. I have driven it to Arizona and back a couple times in the last few years and it is really a joy to drive on the highway. You are able to cruise at 65-75 with this truck and still pass other vehicles. It runs very strong and has a lot of life left.
This is a very rare truck to find in the US, t is almost all original in excellent condition with very very low miles on it. You wont find another one like it.
Hope it can find a garage and a good owner. It is a great travel rig. Could run on Bio diesel or even WVO if you wanted.
