Description of 1989 Toyota Pickup 22RE 4WD 5 Speed |
Relisting for the third time! Please folks, if you don't intend to pay, refrain from bidding. It takes time and money to sell on here. Lets all be adults. Your bid = a legally binding contract. If you choose to purchase, simply follow through. Toyota Dan here! (I love old Toyota vehicles). Outside of motorcycles, my passion is vintage Toyota cars and trucks. I love buying them, wrenching on them, selling them and then buying some more. I hope you'll like this little truck. It has great potential and would be a great addition to your car family. This truck goes down the road great at 70 mph. Everything works as it should, including the AC, heat, 4wd, etc. It is quite solid for its age with a nice body (with minimal rust) and a good frame (with typical scale rust on the back half, no frame rot). The rear bumper is shot and should be replaced. Recent parts that have been replaced include alternator, gas tank with fuel pump, exhaust manifold, as well as regular maintenance items. Tires are fair and are mounted on aftermarket aluminum wheels. Unfortunately, the engine has low compression on cylinder #3. This is due to either bad or stuck rings per the repair shop.According to the previous owner, the engine was rebuilt around 50k ago and at some point later started missing on the 3rd cylinder. He drove it like that for quite some time and other than using some oil, it got around just fine. I drove it back and forth to my shop several times. Surprisingly, even with the low compression on #3, it does fairly well. I'd say unless you're a Toyota fan or seasoned technician, you might not notice the issue. However, I feel like honesty is always the best policy. Other than having lower power, it could probably be driven this way for a while. At some point, it will need an overhaul. It still pulls a hill and still carries a load of wood fine. The engine runs nice and cool with no overheating. Fuel economy is still pretty decent too! Clear title. Must be picked up with 30 days, full payment due within 7 days. Non-refundable PayPaldeposit required within 24 hours of sale. I'm happy to meet your freight carrier should you choose to have it shipped at your expense. If you're adventurous, feel free to drive it away and I'll meet you at my shop. The truck is sold AS-IS with no warranties or guarantees implied. Inspections are welcomed with an appointment. If you bid, you buy. (Relisting again, due to a no contact, non-paying bidder). VADLR |
