Description of 1984 Toyota Land Cruiser |
The legendary Toyota Land Cruiser is Toyota's longest running series. Shown here, the FJ60 station wagon was produced from 1980 until 1987. Sold and driven all over the world, these classic vehicles are famous for their capability, usefulness, reliability, durability and longevity. They have proven to be able to withstand severe abuse, neglect, and extreme mileage. But like with most older Japanese cars, the main enemy has always been rust. We were very excited to find this example for sale in Florida. We assumed it wouldn't be too bad, but once it arrived we were even more pleased with the original condition and lack of rust. The photos of the chassis and the tailgate really tell the story as these are the places that FJ60's rust the worst. This Cruiser is a one owner, Florida vehicle with a clean title. It was clean inside and in running condition when we got it. The original owner clearly used the vehicle and maintained it. Plus it seems to have always been registered & on the road. This truck is really complete and correct. The only non-stock items are the front seats which have been recovered and the aftermarket horn. Most of the loose items are still present including the jack, tools, key tag and really cool plug in 12V light. The only item we know is missing is the owner's manual. There is an accident showing on the Carfax report indicating a left side impact. The damage did not prevent the truck from being driven, so the owner did not get it repaired. The affected panels were the driver side doors and front fender which were dented enough to warrant replacement. Luckily we were able to source three equally rust free panels, but unfortunately they were not white so the driver side of the vehicle had to be painted. The color match is very good. The rest of the exterior was buffed and waxed to bring the shine back out. we would have preferred to keep the paint 100% original, but it just wasn't realistic. We fully expect that disclosing the accident and the repair to deter some buyers. Not related to the accident, but still an item to disclose is that the rain gutter trim is missing on the driver side. The interior is excellent. It is clean with no indication of pets, smoke or family use. As mentioned earlier, the front seats have been reupholstered, but this is a common wear point and the job was tastefully done. The carpet is original and in good shape with only minor fading. Even the carpet on the tailgate is decent. The back seat hardly looks used. The dash only has one bad spot, right by the cluster. The door panels are very nice with minimal wear and the headliner is pretty much perfect. . The Carfax report shows consistent maintenance. We have also thoroughly checked over and serviced this vehicle. Everything works including the 4WD and air conditioning. The truck has passed the NC safety inspection but is exempt from emissions testing here due to the age. Our preparation for sale included the following: Post-purchase inspection & test drive Oil change - Castrol 20W50 Gear oil changed in front & rear differentials, transfer case and transmission Grease fittings serviced Coolant flush, new thermostat & coolant New front brake pads and left caliper New rear brake shoes & hardware Brake fluid flush New sway bar end links New outer tie rod ends Alignment New fuel & air filters New spark plugs, wires, cap and rotor A/C service 4 new tires - Goodyear Wrangler LT 235/75R15 installed on original wheels Re installation of original Toyota radio New hood release cable NC state inspection Professional detail We believe this is a great example of the FJ60 due to the originality, completeness, lack of rust, service status, working condition and appearance. It is a better than driver quality, unrestored vehicle. We will gladly answer any questions about this Land Cruiser or these vehicles in general. We do not have financing available due to the age. The Carfax report and lots of additional photos can be seen on our website. Please contact us for more information. We are familiar with these vehicles and have reviewed the listings nationwide for comparable examples. This is the only Land Cruiser we currently have. We have chosen ebay as the best way to sell it since an auction is the most fair way to handle a rare vehicle. Whoever wants the vehicle the most wins. |
