Description of 1967 Triumph Other |
1967 Triumph TR4AWell Restored Car Including Paint. Interior. Engine. Transmission. and Suspension We are offering a beautiful 1967 Triumph TR4A. VIN: CT75587 L . This Triumph has undergone a complete high quality restoration on a very solid original car. It is a well restored car including paint. interior. engine. transmission. and suspension. We have just serviced the car in our shop and found it to be in excellent mechanical condition with a smooth and quiet engine. transmission. and minimal oil leaks. We have a stack of receipts for the restoration work. The red paint is a well applied base with clear coat of very high quality. It is smooth has nice depth. and is finished properly both under hood and in the trunk. The paint quality certainly exceeds the original factory finish supplied by Triumph. There are only a few very small chips from use. When looking at the underside it appears only the front part of the driver’s floor needed repair and the car has no signs of major body damage or salt damage. I would estimate the paint and bodywork would be at least 10k to duplicate today. The interior has been treated to the same detailed restoration. The wood dash is very nice and the entire interior is high quality and well fitted. All the chrome is excellent with the front and rear bumpers having been treated to a nice re-chroming. The grille and lights all look near factory new. The car always starts quickly and is very smooth running with excellent power. No smoke is evident. and the carbs settle to a nice idle. The 4 speed transmission shifts well. Brakes and clutch work properly and the suspension is tight. yet still absorbs bumps well. This car is one of the rare non-IRS cars. The American dealers did not want the complexity or cost of of the IRS model and insisted the live axle remain available. Very few of them were built from 1965-1967. The chassis at the rear is different than the IRS cars and has none of chassis or ring and pinion breakage common on the trailing arm cars. This chassis is straight and rust free with just a bit of road grime from use. One can tell this was a low miles car. with few miles since restoration. The handling is still good and predictable without the age related clunks that the IRS cars can acquire. Even the experienced racers had a hard time developing the IRS cars to be as fast on the track as the original live axle cars. This setup works well and saves a lot in maintenance. If you are looking for a nice sold driving TR4A this car will provide years of service and is impossible to duplicate at twice the reserve price.
