Description of 1967 Triumph Other TR4A IRS |
Triumph TR4A IRS, 1967 The last and the best of the early Triumphs Very clean body, repainted once over the original paint in original red, excellent chassis with no signs of rust (but a few spots showing professional and proper repair), excellent original factory floors, NO undercoating, just perfect original sheet metal. For a near fifty year old Triumph, this car is amazingly clean underneath.
Brakes: new rotors, calipers, wheel cylinders, pads and shoes. Shocks seem to be in good condition and passed 'the bounce test.' Also, no clunks in the rear end, an important consideration in any IRS car. Wire wheels were primed and painted, seem to be in good condition, exhaust is reasonably quiet and has a sound appropriate for the car, interior is in very good condition considering the seats are probably original, recently installed a new dash top. Convertible top, tonneau, and boof cover all seem to be original and in very good condition. Also just had a new windshield seal and compression strip installed, new door seals, all original gauges work and even the original AM radio works fine. Which is really incredible. Transmission: works well but sometimes is a bit sticky about downshifting into 2nd gear. A very minor annoyance in normal driving. However, I have a freshly rebuilt, professionally redone transmission in my workshop with a brand new clutch assembly which I can discuss providing and having installed. The reason I didn't, was that the issue with the existing transmission never bothered me and it would be a shame to put in the effort to install a rebuilt transmission only to find a new owner would prefer an overdrive or modern 5 speed trans conversion. Both of which are readily available. Overall, a very nice example of this collector's Triumph, ready to drive anywhere, rated at 110 mph performance, soft ride, clean engine and trunk bays, has spare wheel and tire, jack and knock off hammer. Car available for immediate sale and advertised elsewhere. Hence we reserve the right to end the auction at any time and for any reason. Car is sold ‘as is’ with no warranty or guarantee whatsoever. Has full paperwork for legal registration anywhere. We can assist in transport anywhere in the world and can deliver it on our truck within, say, 300 miles. Glad to store the car in a safe, insured spot until arrangements are made. Terms: 20% deposit with 48 hours and full payment within seven days. W/transfer or check is fine.
