Up for sale is a VW Type 823 Dummy Tank.I purchased this piece from theNational Military History Center before the auction was held.When I pursched the piece the owner of the museum said it was an original 823. I can not say one way or the other but it is with out doubt a real Kubelwagen Type 82.The car is in solid shape with no major rust. It does have atransmissionand engine but does not run. Theengine is also a lasterengine from the 60s and is not original to the car.If you have any questions please ask and I willanswer the best I can.If you want to look at the car please feel free to ask. - Year : 1940The Panzerattrap, a peculiar variant of the Type 82 Kubelwagen . The function of this car was to deceive the enemy. A simple visual Kubelwagen was suddenly a ferocious tank . The flanks were simple metallic structures that could be fixedly put on the body.
