Description of 1975 Volkswagen Beetle - Classic Karmann Convertible |
This is a beautiful, fully restored, and show ready 1975 Volkswagen Super Beetle Convertible. Engine bay, Interior, Exterior, Front 'trunk' are all show room condition and newly refurbished. This VW still retains it's original engine as verified and certified via a 'Birth Certificate' from the "Stiftung AutoMuseum Volkswagen" in Germany (goes with sale of the car). Certificate also identifies this VW was built on October 7 1974 in Osnabrueck Germany, left factory October 8 1974, and had a USA delivery destination of Chicago Ill. About Seller: I am a very detail oriented restorer that only completes a car about once every 12-18 months. I do this onside in my spare time.Once I restore, I also enjoy them a bit to fix and bugs and take to shows before I sell them tobegin my next project. This car actually had a lot of work done on it when I bought it and I just had to finish to my level of detail. I like all makes and models as well as styles so I enjoy the learning experience and challenge of a different make and model. The last vehicle I sold was a1960 Chevy Brookwood that Isold at Mecum in Kissimmee Florida last year (you can check out their website for January 2016 auction results).I mention this so you understand this isn't a 10 footer. I really take the time to detail and ensure the vehicle is very well and is of high enough quality to win at regional and national shows. BTW, my latest project is a 1936 1.5 ton farm truck with an original dumpstake bed. 75 VW Additional Details: This is a super nice car. As you can see by the pictures, this isnot your normal VW driver. The good thing is theundercarriage is rust free and painted but not "top coat-paint perfect" as you would find on trailered only show cars. Drive it every day or show it, it's up to you. All gauges work, no rust, new paint, new convertible top, conv cover andseats. Dashpad, knobs, etc. all in beautiful condition with no issues. Chrome inexcellent condition. New Tires Specs
The spare tire isthe original spare tire(dated 1974actually) but on a new rim. The surprise was that therewas no corrosion or issues inmoving it to a new rim even due to its age. I wouldn't use it as an actual spare but the collector in me had to keep it. ** Original owners manual (missing cover) along with original VW Warranty Voucher - Noted with VIN, sale dated June 13, 1975, and with dealer documented stamp for "Lee Killinger VW Inc, 5121 Northwest Highway, Chicago ILL." This car has been garaged and covered since finished and has not even been driven in rain. Awards: 2017 Spring Charlotte Auto Fair in NC - awarded the 'Most Detailed' award. Additional vehicle Info: Note that the fuel injection (75 was first year for this in bugs) has been replaced with a EMPI dual carb setup and upgraded from single exhaust to dual exhaust. Original color was Lagune Blue prior to the full restoration. Shipping: Shipping is at your own expense. I can help you find qualified shippers if needed. The car is fully capable of being driving anywhere in the country from SC if you so choose. The car is located within 20 minutes of Charlotte Douglas Airport (NC) and I would be happy to pick you up if you are looking to drive it home after purchase. Other important things I have added based on other sellers suggestions: No owner financing is available. I can take and send additional pictures at your request. I reserve the right to end the auction early as this is also known to be for sale to local car collectors. Contact me today to make this VW yours now. The vehicle is offered with a right to a personal inspection by any bidder or agent. If you or an agent (upon completion of a scheduled inspection at my location) finds the car not to your liking, I will refund your deposit with no questions asked. If you are the high bidder and unable to inspect this vehicle before auction close, you or an agent will have seven (7) days to inspect this vehicle after the close of auction. If an inspection or decision takes longer than seven days and you find the vehicle not to your liking, your deposit will be forfeited and the car will be relisted. Final payment must be received within ten (10) days of the auction close. |
