I have a 1974 Thing that runs great and off road ready. When I purchased the dual port motor I was told it was an 1835 re-built by VW Paradise. No paperwork on motor but I did call the shop and they remembered the job. Motor is strong, can easily spin the tires and sounds great. Kennedy stage 2 clutch, new 2 barrel Empi carb jetted by B&R Buggy, new generator, new pertronix distributor, all new tune up parts and oil changed monthly, Off Road prep by Malabanan Racing - many new suspension parts, lifted cut+turned front beam and rear torsion turned with new chromalloy torsion bar adde, Bilstein shocks, new exhaust, Mastercraft race seats, Crow 5 pt harness belt setup ( sized for a person 5'9" or shorter. If taller, you will need to reposition the shoulder bar) brand new fuel system - tank and lines, new master cylinder, new brake drums on rear, JBugs, and rebuilds on front, new brake lines all around, new clutch and throttle cable, 2 1/2" roll cage, new big BFG tires, 3" wider rear fenders by SoCal Imports, rust on pans cut out and replaced - sealed w/ POR 15 ( clean enough to eat off of ), very little surface rust that has also been spot treated with POR 15. Body has small dents and scrapes with a very aggressive military look to it. Custom front push bar and skid plate with led light bar and LED headlights ( brightest available ) RPM and Oil Temp gauges added, all lights work, wiring solid, new windshield glass and rubber, LOUD race horn. Custom Bikini Top by Bestop. Comes with all 4 original windows and a 1973 Thing gas heater that looks like a factory install - air blows but I never tried to fire it up. It is highly recommended that it is professionally serviced before used. The windshield wiper motor is very weak and will need a rebuild if you plan on using it.This car is a blast to drive and turns heads everywhere you go. Garaged since I've owned it. Radio and speakers are not included with the sale of this car. Come test drive or send a 3rd party inspector.
